can't argue with that

I find it funny how American culture keeps flip flopping from one extreme to the other though, in the 2000s you had all the girls whorin' it up and all the guys in the Fred Durst "dudebro" mold.

Now all the girls are ugly man hating feminists and all the guys are soyed out wusses.

2000s culture could be plenty obnoxious in it's own way and worthy of critique, but things have gone way too far in the opposite direction into an even worse form of obnoxiousness, the old ways, sexy women and macho men, was at least more honest about human nature.

dunno, i think the roles just reversed, the goth-y girls are now super slutty ethots and into onlyfans and hentai and the ones who were into more trendy shit are pretending to be into politics and stuff like that. I am just sad, before tumblr people with dyed hair and piercings were more fun and totally not PC

Goth-y girls could always be slutty sometimes though, couldn't they?

I agree it's a shame Tumblr people have ruined dyed hair.

Thinking about it Suicide Girl was already a thing, although most of the goth crowd from my time would be the ones laughing and being mean to girls dressing skanky and dancing to choreografies. I guess there are many shades of goth, didn't remembered the rave goths either.

So they debuted in '97 (not counting their indie stuff before that) buuuut... who could forget these bad boys!!?? <3

A look through their entire discography is a must- they have some amazing songs, often overshadowed by this one bubblegum pop hit.

From 1999, featuring some of the most inscrutable lyrics ever performed in a pop song ever:

Pretty good band overall, even if this was the only hit song they ever had. But man, the lyrics are weird. I mean, "My sticky paws were into making straws out of big fat slurpy treats"?

These songs are peak nostalgia for me. They're like 2004 I think, but they still count right?

1998. Placebo is one of my favorite bands, i still love this video

1997. This video and song actually made me sick, it was good but way overplayed even years after it released.

Ok you asked for it....😉

Wow that is super impressive. Out of Seven, I had never heard a single one of these tracks. And I attempted all of them but . 20 seconds each is about all I could deal. Although I know if I had some nostalgia for it that changes everything,

You inspired me to search for my sappy love music of the time.

But wait there's more!!

I remember people used to get Michelle Branch and Vanessa Carlton confused with one another.

In all fairness, in Clown's first post, all of those bands were Euro, mostly Brits. So maybe it has to do with that. Out of those 7 songs, I only knew 3 from when I was a kid.

As for the ones you posted... also only knew 3.
