So no, this garbage doesn’t belong in the romance section either. It needs to get banished to its own corner of some seedy adult store and stay there (of which I'll be shocked if adult stores don't do this already, it's such easy money).

They should just label it "smut" and be done with it. No more hiding.

Well, Anne Rice Beauty series is in the Erotica genre and Fifty Shades of Grey is in the Romance genre. It would be a joy if the adult books stores returned to solve this issues. Both should be prevented from being in the YA section and fully deserved to be bullied out of it.

bent over the back of a dumpster in (insert big city here) with thinly veiled author whining about how DomTop 29 blocked him on Grindr "ugh im so tired of hookup culture 🙄" while actively engaging in it gay
As someone who sticks to old school fetish/kink story archives on old school gay fetish sites, I'm going to need examples because all I see on Amazon are the quirky chungus romcom crap.

The "terrible consequences" I mentioned were either being literally killed by the lesser faeries, or getting assaulted/raped. She has been given perfectly-reasonable instructions and advice such as "Don't trust your senses here" or "Don't leave your room tonight and don't open the door no matter what", and every single time she does the exact opposite and nearly dies or get hurt. First go-round, I get it, she doesn't want to trust whom she assumes are her captors even though they tell her she's free to go where she pleases, but she legit believed a púca's illusion of her crippled father had hobbled after them for at least two days to get her and could've gotten herself eaten. Some weeks later, everyone's telling her to stay in her room that night and to not attend some faerie festival, and she leaves the manor anyway to go to check the festival out and almost got herself sexually assaulted by faeries--twice.

She's a legit stupid woman who defiantly chooses to just not listen to the locals who fucking know what they're talking about (though I mean, why the fuck would they give her the intricate details as to what goes on in the land when she has literal faerie blood on her hands?).

Tsunderes just have a hard time of accepting their personal feelings to a certain someone, and quality is all over the place. ACOTAR, as far as I can tell, has no tsunderes, just cardboard cut-out characters.

Yeah, pretty much this, though Night Lands chick sounds more retarded.
Can you fully red poll me on ACOTR because I've never read it but it's everywhere where books are sold.

I dunno how I can red pill you on it, it's exactly how I described it in that paragraph about how self-insert does stupid shit after being told to not do stupid shit that'll get her raped and/or killed. Mind you, I haven't finished the book, it's physically painful to read and I needed to mentally recover.

Both. Its a Harry Potter Handmaids Tale AU (alternate universe) fanfic. And enemies to lovers. And rapey.
The only way that could even work is if the male student characters are basically Gilead secret police rookies and Hermione is pretty much young Aunt Lydia at her most evil and everyone is in their 20s, and the plot is Draco wanting to marry and put a child into Hermione but Hermione would rather torture sluts as part of their Handmaid's training, forgoing family and kids because torturing sluts into becoming rape baby making rape slaves is more important than having kids herself. And 20-something Harry Potter and Ginny have their own Handmaid.

I hate everything about what you just posted

Cho Chang. You gotta have something for the Asian booktok girlies to self-insert as.

There's nothing really to redpill about it. It's scientifically formulated in a lab to be so appealing to the average normie woman that even women who intentionally don't like it sometimes get visceral tingles when reading it.

Some girl has an illustrated summary of it on youtube designed to take the piss and you can tell even she finds herself a bit worked up over some of the characters.

I think we should legally bar people from calling that "reading"

"300 page alien book"
so this is a book where an alien abducts and rapes a woman
Probably the "Ice Planet Barbarian" series.

For as much as these same people look down on hentai, that series is *literally* just hentai. Just replace demons and tentacles with aliens and symbiotes. And yes, that includes the 'forced to be horny' part. Except all but one of the girls see that as not so bad, and that last girl only doesn't like it because she can't have babies. ...And then she's fully on-board later.

...Why yes, I do like listening to garbage book podcasts. How could you tell?

As an MST3k/rifftrax fan, you have any recommends? (I also enjoy garbage books sometimes, was in some snark communities back in the day)

I'm mostly looking for something "highlight" type. I don't need 6 hr detailed breakdowns. (well... I do, but I don't have time) Nothing more than an hour which just goes over the broad strokes of the book with some selected bits to drive home the point.

Ah, geez. I'm not really sure I have anything to recommend in that case: I go for multi-hour, detailed breakdowns exclusively. They're my background noise at work and home, so being an 8 hour supercut is just a bonus for me.

Heck, I was wondering if people here could give ME recommendations because I had to go through and unsub from a lot of my usuals. They either went inactive, switched to focus on celebrity drama, or started hyper-focusing on LGBT and minority representation (or lack thereof) and bitching about politics every episode.

I also got tired of hearing people talk about listening to a book at upwards of 3x speed, insisting that it's not only the same as reading but IS reading, and then giving the most absolute vague ""analysis"". I see listening to audiobooks as equivalent to reading, but both require you to pay attention and these bitches are skimming.

For me audiobooks are fun when it's a novel I know by heart, but it lets me do something that I need my hands/eyes for that's not as distracting as TV. If I lose track I can tune back in and know where I am in the plot.

The obvious one is 372 Pages We'll Never Get Back, which is a broad strokes/highlights/lowlights bad book podcast starring Mike Nelson and Conor Lastowka.

Baldurs Gate 3 got a book tie-in with T Kingfisher focusing on Astarion, the vampiric yaoi bait god of sex and darkness who's super popular with bad boy aficionados and pooners alike.

However Booktok/Booktwit/bluesky are horrified to discover that not only does the book ignore most of Astarion's lore from the games, and is written quite poorly, the author was not correctly 'woke' when handling Astarion's sexual abuse in the novel. T Kingfisher then proceeded to act confused about the haters, but in doing so, revealed she had no actual idea what she had written when she wrote Cazador forcing Astarion to have sex or something idk I've never played BG3. She is allegedly getting her friends to cover up negative reviews and blames her poor research on the fact she's been 'writing six other books'. In the novel, Astarion fucks a pig and also jizzes over a pigeon.
T Kingfisher has also been revealed to 'not care' about SA victims, especially the victims of Neil Gaiman, (X) making her public enemy number one. Collection of screenshots.
