Yandere Simulator - Thank you for following the development of Yandere Simulator

So you'd be going the route of Fire Emblem then? They have 6-7 different hairstyle and then 20 or so color options, along with three different face options for cut scenes where the characters are talking. If you could cut the color option down or get rid of it, that might be simple enough to code.

I personally suggest doing what the Nintendo DS version of The Sims 3 did, and having 4 normal hair colours and then 4 unnatural ones for the peeps that want to make their character look like a Final Fantasy character instead of 20 colours.

Sorry if this is a dumb question but: Where you guys gonna get your music from?

Something like that, yeah. We will have similar cutscenes to FE, you know, like VN-style, so it's not going to be as in-depth as The Sims but you can change some stuff.

I know some musicians who could help, but music is low priority right now.

An idea to spice up the rivals: How about different elimination methods won't work on certain rivals, or have negative effects on the player? Like, if a cooking club rival couldn't be poisoned because she has really good smell and could tell something's wrong with her food. Or if you kill an animal loving rival's pet, she figures out it was you and beats the shit out of you and has you arrested (Ok, gotta admit that was just my anger coming out from Alex's stupid attempt at animal cruelty)....Or maybe a rich rival can't get expelled (her dad gives the school too much money), or a slutty rival isn't effected by blackmail

I've always thought that would be a good idea, and we were talking about that too (I'm on the project). It makes sense, since people don't react the same to everything. Some girls are so happy, nobody would believe that her falling off the roof was actually suicide. Some girls will be so full of themselves, they won't be friends with you, you can lick their shoes. Available eliminations should vary, so the player can't always hide in their comfort zone.

You guys are sticking to the parody thing right? I had an idea. Yanderes usually aren't completely emotionless (others at least create a convincing facade), the semi-mute protagonist with small dialogue and many options for the player would be good here. I think for the info-chan replacement, you should go with a foreigner student who Yan-chan met and is in charge of the school newspaper. He would be constantly informing the protagonist of important developments and he would also be a tried and true Weeaboo . His presence and dialogue could really help drive the parody message home. Also, the "cutscenes" could just be the character models doing basic emote animations while a visual novel like screen plays over it like the persona series.

I love this, he could be an over zealous friend who is eager to tell you the new happenings.
Also, for protag's personality, I think a sweet girl who likes helping out and is a little odd in the funny way would be good. Like Yuno Gasai and Mutsuki Koharu's lovechild.
Another thing that should definitely be implemented should be the ability to talk to senpai! Like, come on. This is the main reason why I hate Yandere-chan. Real yandere girls are CONSTANTLY all over their senpai, and are always trying to win his affection.

Sorry for double posting: I'm not quite sure if I can post this here but I haven't been accepted into the project (yet?), but I whipped up a quick concept for protag. I would've liked the hair to be a lighter shade of purple but I didn't have a marker that color. I know that the anatomy's shit, but I made this in like, 45 minutes. The main thing I want opinions on are the hair and uniform.

I think she looks too much like a social butterfly, like maybe change some of the pink. Maybe her sweater on the uniform could be blue (light or dark would work regardless) and have the skirt be purple or (if you went with the light blue) just a darker shade of blue. For the hair color, I agree that it should be a lighter shade of purple. Try these . Also, I personally think it would be better if she had only one bun. But really, that's just me. Other than the colors I like her design(especially her anime pupils). Am I being too nitpick-y?

If we're looking at possible yandere - chan redesigns, I suggest everyone looks at Yukako Yamagishi. She's a very stereotypical yandere. Yet due to being a minor character, she's isn't very well known. I honestly feel like she's a good guide for you guys to construct you're own yandere because she isn't in the public eye as much as Yuno is, so it'd be easier to draw inspiration from her without people screaming 'OMG u copied dis character!'

It seems you guys are going with the dark comedy route, so the name suggestion I have is Kira (Mainly because you can't get more in your face then Kira.) But I understand if you are going with a more subtle route, its just my own two cents.

I feel Info-Chan (She needs a better name) should be the lead journalist of the dying school paper. She figures out Yandere is behind these killings and offers a truce around mid game, Yandere keeps the stories rolling in and she is willing to help cover Yanderes tracks (Provide uniforms etc.) This should be used as the rivals get harder, but its totally up to the player if they want to use Info - Chan or not.

I also feel like Senpai shouldn't be too much of a Self - Insert. Perhaps you should make him the School Body President and eager to uncover the murderer. It'd add a whole new meaning to 'Don't let Senpai notice you' as he is actively pursuing Yandere.

I don't know, these are just my two cents. Can't wait to see the finished product of Kiwi Yandere Simulator.

Hey thanks for the suggestions guys!! We currently have a large number of elimination method and the modelers on our team are working on 3d model so we don't need any new ideas for the redesigns for the MC at the moment but thank you still we'll keep them in mind since nothing is set in stone.
@general mills commercial well at the moment we have enough 2D artists and have already decided on the tasks for everyone sorry. (Unless you can propose something else)
@King Hado Yes we'll not go for the emotionless like Eva did, for the cutscenes we were going for a style like that but without 3d characters as for the background, it could be good, I'll tell the other about that :)

For the rest we all want to keep it a secret and only release some screenshots about the progress (not everyday almost like that eva boy lmao, I guess when there is a huge significant progress or when the game is almost complete) we don't want to spoil anything so it's not like I (or someone else on the eam) can say what we decided to keep, delete or change :oops:

We agreed on removing Info-Chan from the game for several reasons:

1. The panty shots currency is replaced with actual money because having a gameplay mechanic around taking lewd photos of underaged girls is retarded.
2. As such, there are no ways to call in favours with panty shots. The currency in our game will be actual money instead, and if you have actual money you could as well make certain students and staff agreeable to taking bribes instead.
3. Any information you can dig up on students can be found in the school anyway, like personal info, grades or medical records for certain students. You just need to obtain it on your own instead through talking with people, stealing, hacking etc. which will tie in better to the core gameplay (as we want to make pacifist runs viable) and make information valuable, unlike YanSim where you can just get it by taking a few photos.
4. To expand on the previous point, I want to reward paying close attention to your rivals to find out exactly what their personalities are like as well as their strengths and weaknesses, similar to solving a puzzle. That's the most fun concept I can think of when we're talking about a game starring a yandere; figuring out and prodding at someone's weaknesses. This encourages out-of-the-box thinking and discourages simply using the same tactic for all rivals. Having all student info at the touch of a button is therefore, in my opinion, fucking retarded.
5. Having one student in the school who never shows up and is completely untouchable for no good reason besides plot armour is fucking retarded as well and brings up a lot of questions.

Sorry about that, seems I overlooked you in the scuffle. We had enough 2D artists as of now, yes.

Out of curiosity, will there be delinquents, or something along those lines?

Ah, damn. Well if you ever are short staffed on them, then I'm available. Also if you guys do have voice acting for cutscenes and what not, I'd love to help with that too.

We're considering having delinquents, but if implemented their role will not be to arbitrarily spawn somewhere that's a nuisance. We're still debating and discussing student types and personalities.

...Any chance if you do put in delinquents, one of them could be wearing my avatar's helmet?

Keep in mind that as a mod, I can ban you if you say no :P

Great suggestion! Only problem is, I'm a programmer, not a modeler, so I have no means to make it a reality.

For now, the game is very much design by committee. Until that changes, don't expect any individual requests or features to be added or considered. Care will be taken to avoid turning this into Easter Egg Simulator 2.0. Killing, stalking, sneaking, plotting and armchair psychology will be the focus.

Your best bet is hoping one of us puts it in the Easter Eggs sections of the design document and hope we don't delete it by accident (as I think we've done once or twice already). Once we've got the key components built and assembled, maybe then we'll consider Easter Eggs and other little silly bits of nonsense. Until that time, expect no real answer. Really, at this point, all bets are still off. Several months from now we'll have settled on what we want to create and should be well on the way, making it much more likely we can throw in little bells and whistles. Each request (should we receive more) probably won't be considered equally and most would probably be ignored, especially if they don't fit with the theme or environment. Lousy, but that's the way it is. Feel free to list suggestions here until we make an official email account that we can all ignore.

So I'm another person who has known about the farms for a while but only decided to join because of the main YandereDev thread. I can't really help make the game, but I do have a lot of ideas I can offer.

I was thinking maybe one of the rivals could be a yandere who has a crush on the protagonist and is planning to kill Senpai before you can confess to him. The goal would be to murder the rival before they murder Senpai.

Hmmm, well ok.
...
But if it doesn't get put in, you're still getting banned.
