There has been a massive uptick of post merge. Most accounts are made in this September or October.

Hell there are accounts with 0 post and are made to rate accounts.

What happened to cause uptick of newfags and alts? Unemployment, Recession, ResetERA members joining in?

Eternal summerfag phenomenon. Considering that empty shill accounts just take up space and shit up entire forum. Worthless accounts that just take up bandwidth once school starts again.

Also wasn't creation of sock puppet accounts against forum rules?

It may be my paranoia and/or autism (i'm also kinda a newfag) but just in the past couple weeks or so, there are newer users who come in threads trying to derail them or start fights or say unnecessarily provocative stuff. Its a tad suspicious.

I don't think alts/socks are technically against the rules until you try to evade a ban using one of them.
