So this Hellkrai guy is a bit exceptional it seems. He routinely gets into arguments on twitter defending YIIK and he keeps track of all the arguments he's "won":

But that's not the main reason why I made this post. It's because of his huge spergout today. It started when somebody brought up YIIK and how people get into slapfights defending it:

As a side note, censoring terms like "y/ii/k" has literally never worked because people can still search the censored term anyway. Hence why Hellkrai found the above tweet and replied:

In comes Cheryl / kouneyagami, the tranny YIIK composer and fellow defender of YIIK. Even he recognizes that slapfighting on twitter isn't a good look for the game:

Fun fact: OP is the creator of his own YIIK: "Super Lesbian Animal RPG"
Like YIIK, you play as a pseudo self-insert who overbearingly creeps on women. This time it's unsubtle ersatzes of My Little Pony characters instead of an actual dead girl.
Somebody was LP-ing it in the Trans-made media thread but got bored and I don't blame them. It was like YIIK but with none of the accidental charm.

Ironic that he'd get triggered by an -ACKK! game.

I'll give em this, really does intrigue me enough in wanting to get this game and see this promised update is up too all the promises they made.

what sets Alex apart from other "asshole" and "evil" character is that Alex is the worst thing i character can be. annoying.

looking at other "asshole" character like Zelos from tales of symphonia. the first time you meet him, you think his just a sexist horn dog that only thinks with his dicks and has no care what's going on around him. once you get to know him, you slowly realize that is all just a cope to hide his depression and nihilism so he could hurt others before they could hurt him. a self defense mechanism from the trauma he suffer from childhood.

on the more evil side of the spectrum, we have Wylfred from Valkyrie Profile: Covenant of the Plume. a game about a young man that seeks revenge against a god for taking his father away and uses power literally given to him from Satan to achieve this. during the game, you have to sacrifice your own teammates just to complete the game first time around. it shows that Wylfred is willingly sacrificing not just his friends, his humanity but perhaps the very world itself, all for the seek of petty revenge. its stuff like that what builds character depth and the player wishing for the character to succeed in his revenge or get redeemed.

what dose Alex have? collage drop out? ok, that sucks. lives with his mom? rather common these days but whatever. works part time and gets to eat 3 times a da- wait a minute. Alex seems to be living a pretty decent live all things considered and yet, his a petty whining asshole with no redeeming quality to him. that would be fine if he was as charismatic as Zelos or a tortured soul like Wylfred but Alex is neither of those things.

the other characters atleast had something going with them while Alex has nothing going on. his boring and worst off, ANOYING!

This looks very interesting. They did a showcase last year (which wasn't posted in the thread for whatever reason) which shows the new battle system in action. When they say they're building new mechanics from the ground up, they weren't kidding. The previous "overhauls" to combat mostly changed the combat minigames without toying with the underlying leveling and attributes whatsoever. This though seems like an entirely different game.


As someone who really enjoyed the original for what it was, I'm torn. The new cutscenes have an uncanny feeling to them, but the new mind dungeon looks spectacular. If you ever went through to the end of the original mind dungeon in NG+ then you know how insane it was to navigate before. Hopefully they've fixed that completely and you can level up multiple times without it taking 3 motherfucking hours.

I hope they’re fixing the script along with all the battle system updates and everything. It can be the most fun and addictive battle system in the world, but if characters are just going to give dry speeches about random stuff that ultimately plays no part in the story, you're only fixing half of the major problems.

I give them props for trying but first impressions are everything and i played it before i saw the boys at OneyPlays play it. It was different then, will be different now but i don't think it would be good. To be honest i agree with a few people i've read here and with Chris during the playthrough they should have just fixed technical things and stuck with their guns when it came to story. I don't even think people care too much about it now since it's more interesting when they were trying to be serious about fixing it.

It's like if someone tried to make a legit movie out of The Room and missed the point of why it's so bad, it's good.
