There's going to be a cultural shift like there was from the 1970s to the 1980s and the 1990s to the 2000s.

Expect SJW culture to fall out of fashion, edgelord humor will come back into fashion, sexy will return to video games and comic books, people will look back and just laugh or cringe at how bizarre people got in the 2010s.

No decade's culture in the modern world is exactly the same as the one before it, things always change, if you expect the 2020s to be the same as the 2010s you'll be surprised at how much things will change.
 
My autistic predictions:


Domestically:
Trump will win the 2020 election due to this impeachment soft coup d'état nonsense but the partisan divide will continue to deepen and widen.
States like Virginia will go full rêtard and attempt to confiscate "illegal" firearms, prompting massive civil unrest/conservative flight.
The Democrats will become increasingly unhinged as BLONAHLD BLUMPF takes his second term as POTUS.
The potential for Civil War 2: Appomattox Boogaloo will increase dramatically, but may not kick off until the mid 21st century.
The economy will slow and the student loan debt bubble will start to pop, expect many lesser liberal arts colleges to shutter operations.
A push for more deviant sexual paraphillias being tacked onto the LGBTIPP2SAWTFBBQ+ crowd, with pedophilia and zoophilia being angled towards.
One major Hollywood studio goes under.
A secession movement in the People's Republic of California may gain traction after the 2020 election.
Social Security becomes insolvent, sorry Gen X, Millennials, and Zoomers, you're on your own! t- Boomer.
Barb Chandler dies.


Internationally:
China will try and fail to leverage their massive supplies of rare earth elements, prompting other nations to increase production.
China and the US will start engaging in a cold war of sorts over trade, Hong Kong, freedom of navigation in the South China Sea, and Taiwan.
The EU will start to strain over rapefugees being nothing but gibs collecting crime machines. SWEDEN YES.
Brexit will happen, but the British will remain forever cucked, one or more royals die before 2030
Sub-Saharan Africa experiences a population boom that their economies cannot sustain. Localized epidemics of Margburg fever, Ebola, and plague ripthrough rural Africa.
The East African Union may become a nation.
More of the Ross Ice Shelf collapses into the Southern Ocean, decrasing ocean salinity and potentially effecting the deep water production areas, impacting global weather patterns; ditto for Greenland.
 
The Queen will pass sometime in 2020s. Huge media blitz, at least in the common-wealth.

Trump Wins 2020 by a margin. Not a Regan 84, but 3/4s the states. Some blue states will turn red. Dems keep freaking the fuck out.
If Sanders is the nom, it'll be a very close election. As long as his VP is decent (Tulsi) and not some woke shit (Harris).

Chris keeps living despite his/her lifestyle.

Spoony keeps rotting away on someone's couch or in his parent's house.

1. A few months before some major election - it doesn't matter which, doesn't even need to be a US one - we're going to get an absurd, ridiculous flood of deepfakes for one of the candidates. Videos, photos, you name it. So many that it's completely implausible that all of them could be real. This will be the singular event that actually cements the idea of what a 'deepfake' is in the public consciousness, and as a result nobody will give a crap about leaked nudes ever again.

2. Someone will write a CAPTCHA analogue that requires you to a basic high-school level reading comprehension test and/or answer an obscure question that can be trivially googled. The fallout from this will be the funniest event of the year.

3. Someone will write a browser extension akin to Dick Masterson's Slur Machine that does enigma-machine style encoding to convert the input text into barely comprehensible gibberish which can only be read if you have the same extension and key installed. Twitter will jump on this so hard the entire site will be unreadable within weeks and when they finally ban use of the extension, a ton of the userbase will jump ship to another platform.

something tells me Deep Fakes will cause a huge epidemic of high schoolers and middle schoolers using it for cyber bulling (Actual Cyber bullying since now it could be hard to tell if the footage is real or not and cause actual problems) and fap material of their classmates. leading to a lot of kids getting banned/arrested for owning and creating CP and a call to regulate/ban it.

- Russia begins eyeing up Baltics, Black sea ports
- Violence in China (Hong Kong, but probably also Tibet and Xinjiang) increases, only to be met with even more repression from the CCP
- Chan culture finally dies, probably with 4chan being sold off and 8chan becoming too expensive/controversial to keep up. Remnants of the old image boards are confined to TOR.
- Dark web becomes much more mainstream. Facebook, Google and the gang'll probably start launching apps specifically for the dark web in the next few years, based on some sort of "total security" platform, which in reality still steals all of your data

I'm going with a prediction that is totally unrealistic but will make me look brilliant if it happens. I will come back here to gloat if I am right, and if I'm wrong hope none of you remember my gay, big-brained prediction.


Andrew Yang wins democratic nomination and beats Trump (very narrowly).
