Your 2022 Game of the Year

The best Deus Ex game ever made: Project Snowblind.

Being serious though, I tried Human Revolution after all these years and it was fine I guess, though it doesn't come close to the original Deus Ex despite it being 22 years old by now.

Played only two 2022 games, Elden Ring and Kirby.

ER is obviously the better one. Unlike almost everybody here I didn'1t like Kirby very much, the game is ugly all around with its delipidated scenarios, the levels are kind of short and boring, didn't like the exploration that much. It's a fun game but not something I would put on a top of the year.
 
Didn't play many, but AI: The Somnium Files Nirvana Initiative easily takes it
Also call me MATI, but why do you people clog up the thread with games that weren't even released this year? I looked at the thread to maybe find out about interesting games that released this year that I should pick up, only to waste time reading through old releases

Didnt play many 2022 releases. Unpopular opinion, but Elden Ring didn't do anything for me, then again, im not a Souls fan. Thought this one would finally be the one to turn me over but honestly it just felt like more of the same, BUT OPEN WORLD!

Enjoyed Sonic Frontiers a lot, but Strangers of Paradise was a blast, personally. Id have to go with that one
(Ironically, its kinda like a souls-lite. much easier to digest)

Of new games released in 2022 it'd be between Elden Ring and Vampire Survivors, not perfect games by any means but dense enough with content and enjoyable enough to play to keep going back to. Of games I've played in 2022 I enjoyed Aria of Sorrow and Armored Core 3 the most.

Metal : Hellsinger. Short but super intense and satisfying. I never expected FPS + rythm game + death metal combination would work, but it does, apparently.

Obviously it's Elden Ring, but I'm having a fucking blast with Dying Light 2 and I don't get why people shat on it aside from the bugs when it came out. In some ways it's better than the first, in some ways not as good, but it's definitely not worth the kind of raging and whining people from game journos and shit it produced.
 
When it comes to triple A titles I have to agree with everyone here and also say Elden Ring. But the Game that kept me the most invested in recent months was probably the new Biotech DLC for RimWorld.

At last, I no longer need any mods to LARP as an african warlord with an army of child soldiers on a crusade against Furfags.
 
I think it might be a 2021 title, but I finally got around to playing UltraKill. Even in its unfinished state, that shit is badass and lights up my brain like a fucking Christmas tree. It's super sweaty though, and kinda assumes that you know the "tech", but as someone who loves learning cool tricks in games it was a fucking blast. I was saddened to learn that the community around it is so trooned out, but I dont really interact with gaming communities anyway. So this is my GOTY I suppose.

I haven't played elden ring yet because when I tried to boot it up the game basically told me and my old ass graphics card to go fuck ourselves and wouldn't even start, but it looks awesome and I look forward to checking it out sometime this year hopefully. I did, however, play though DS1 for like the fourth time this year and it's still a classic.
