Your first exposure to Chris

Same issue from Nintendo Power that was listed in the OP.

Then someone posted the infamous video where he says gays should be allowed in the army to die in explosions or something on another forum.

Then I really found out who he was after the Sonichu Animated series or whatever back in 2008 or 9. I was interested in what the hell this sonichu really was and...yeah.

A friend on Skype linked me to his ED. The article seemed to grow every other week so whenever I got really bored I'd check it out. After I saw the JULAY video I stopped visiting it for awhile because... WTF? Eventually found myself curious on how a person like Chris was produced. Found CWCkipedia and my mind was blown.

Found him through Linkara's "Comic's I'll never review" video. Unfortunately, I got here when the well had dried up and didn't get to experience Chris in his former glory. Feel like I missed a whole lot of awesome moments.

I'm sure I'd seen him on 4chan and ED prior to this, and probably even read the ED article, but it all didn't really stick as an item of interest until I heard his and his father's soundboards being used. I'm a fan of prank phone calls, and I stumbled across a phone call made using the Chris soundboard where he uttered lines like "I'll be bangin' your breasts while you're all tied up!" and "the first dosage of my comeuppance" and his father droning on and on about Cherokees and gutter rats and the peculiar way his mother intones the phrase "you must be fucked up somehow, goodbye!". All these lines made me want to know more and more about these weirdos.

At first, I was embarrassed by proxy by Chris, but as time went by, I started to enjoy reading about him. Soon, I was spending most of my free time reading articles on CWCki. As for right now, I kind of wish Chris the best in life, would like to see him grow up and rise above, and have a grudging respect for him for having obtained fame by any method.

My exposure was that during high school, I was looking for some music videos until I saw some related videos about him. I thought it was some kind of joke when I clicked on the video and saw videos from other people criticizing him so I wanted to know what the hell was going on. From there, I had to read the CWCki to make sure it was true and at first, I couldn't believe it but as I read more and time went on, I believed it. He's like a train wreck; something you don't want to see but you can't help it. I had to read more and know about this guy whether I know it or not! Good thing I even did a psychology paper about him before for a class and got an A for that. My psych professor at the time said that I really proved to her that she hasn't seen everything from her career in the psychology field. So that says a lot about Chris.

I think I read a Cracked article about 2 years ago. But I never really payed much attention to him until Bob's Death.

I was in a forum that was being pestered by another LOLcow (who has since been put out to pasture). Someone posted the "Chris sitting in front of Lego CWCville" picture and another basically said "It's amazing how much like Chris this guy is". I didn't think much of it at the time, but I eventually checked the GOOGLE RESULTS to figure out what they were talking about.

That was early 2011. I've been here ever since.

On ED around 2007 or 2008. I think I was linked there via Nesshelper's article.

It was just by hitting the random button on what used to be Encyclopedia Dramatica. It's been a strange ride with him, throughout the edits, the begging, the demanding of that dreaded page and so many reincarnations of /cwc/.

Wouldn't change a thing though, he's certainly made the last few years a lot more interesting.

I found out about him from the ED page, which I in turn found out about from a lolcow on Smashboards.

ED page for me as well in late summer 2010. Just could not believe he was a real person with all this shit documented. I thought I was pretty late in discovering Chris (some time after the Fridays at five and before the kick the hex box incidents) but I am pleased I got to see the end of the Jackie saga. What a shock it was when on that day in late April 2011 my brother texted the Tomgirl pics with the message you'll never believe what Chris is up to now! Sweet times.

That got-danged Encykapeia Dramakka page introduced me to Chris back in Fall of 2008. I've been fascinated by his Autistic shenanigans ever since...
same here, the megan e-mails got me hooked and to this day i can't look away at his shenanigans.

A friend told me about him and Sonichu and some time later I just happened to come across the ED page and the CWCki. I couldn't believe all of this was real.

I think the first video I saw was the classic "IAN BRANDON SOMETHING" during the Liquid saga.

In January of last year, I was listening to an episode of Radio Graffiti on YouTube (forgot which one it was) and a caller called up and asked Ghost what he thought of Chris. Ghost says something along the lines of, "Eh, I hope he gets cancer of the cock honestly." Curious as to who the caller was talking about, I looked up Chris Chandler on YouTube and watched The God and the Bear video. I think after watching the video, I started trying to find out who he was and I eventually stumbled across the CWCki.

I first heard of him in a LiveJournal community called sf_drama in late 2009. There was this one weeaboo wanking about how Pokemon shouldn't be actively catering to girls or something, and one member claimed he was "like Chris-Chan without the mental issues". I looked him up, but it didn't stick. Then in early 2010, another sf_drama member made a "Where are they now?" post including the question "What's Chris-Chan been up to?" I then went to the CWCki, found a video of Chris giving the Curse-ye-ha-me-ha to Mao, and have been following him ever since.

I kind of wanted to post a question along the lines of this thread, but found this old one and just decided to resurrect it. I found him back in 2009 on ED. I really didn't believe that he was real. No one could be like that, I told myself. I encountered him a couple more times and still didn't believe, not until April of this year. When I realized there was more than just an article, but a whole wiki and all the youtube vids, I stayed up watching and reading. I immediately showed my partner and he laughed quite a bit. He doesn't seek OPL out, but will watch/read when I show him something. Then he accuses me of being in love with OPL, and I say no, you know I've always enjoyed a good train wreck...
