Me and my buddy were talking about our guilty pleasure music a little while back and we both pretty much agreed we secretly love stereotypical mom music. like stuff moms probably would listen to even though no one's mom listens to it.

Mine specifically are:

I don't know why. Oh wait, yes I do, it's because this song is so fucking majestic. It just sticks in my head. What's not to love? "I got bills to pay and children who need clothes, i know there's fish out there but where? God only knows." I love it so much.

The more I look at these the more I wonder why they're guilty pleasures. They're great. The video is what gets me here. It's so "art." Every cliche you could want for high art is there, even a ribbon girl and Sting's great haircut. I love it.

Also The Beach Boys were one until I stopped being self conscious about it and also realized literally everyone likes the Beach Boys.

Guilty pleasures? My avatar says it all.

I unironically fucking love Chip Tha Ripper (He's King Chip now). Yes, the Interior Crocodile Alligator guy. He may not be the best freestyle rapper in the world, but dude knows how to mix sick beats. It's excellent toking music.

Let's just say I sometimes unironically like Skrillex not because I think they're dubstep, but rather I just like the aggressive electro-house music style some of his songs have.

Also as someone who'd call himself a metalhead and would have bashed other genres just to be a ween, I gotta say I'm getting into dubstep after hearing some drops I like. This could apply to any genre where I do some digging and find some beats, riffs, or melodies I like.

I guess jpop and kpop would count as my guilty pleasures...

Oh! I forgot about that new Carly Rae Jepsen song.... Dammit...

This song. I do not like the movie, but it's just so catchy.
Anything from this game. It's all so funky, catchy and energetic. This song also has a soft spot in my heart cuz in the 8chan exodus /v/ had a sing-a-long to it.
Finally this one, oh god. Found it from LittleBig Planet 2, and no matter how much people say it's annoying I just love it so much. At least give it until 1:20.

I dislike the majority of rap, but this song is too catchy for me to hate.

Another thing that I know there's nothing wrong with but still makes me feel a little guilty, is how roughly 25% of my music tastes are comprised of music that I first heard in video games, much like Chris and his Guitar Hero music but to be fair it's common knowledge that you can find some dank tunes in some games if you listen hard enough; even among the licensed music they usually put in sports games, Guitar Hero, and such. I could make a massive post about my favorites among those I first hear in games but that'll probably get me a bunch of Autistic ratings so here's one song I heard in THPS3 that's starting to grow on me.

I know the whole concept of a guilty pleasure is bullshit and you should just like whatever without caring... but if any of my metalhead friends knew that I own a copy of Miley Cyrus' Bangerz, I'd have to find a cave somewhere remote and stay there for the rest of my life.

A musical similarity I have with Chris would be my love of late '90s-early '00s kitsch.

This is currently on the top of my workout playlist... It makes me feel awesome... And Hyuna looks awesome in the video.

Ace of Base, the 90s ABBA clone. Their songs are too catchy for me not to like, haha.
Same goes for ABBA too.

Dancing Queen is a good song. There are other good disco performers, like Gloria Gaynor.

Of course, a lot of people who were not "disco" performers at all released disco-influenced material, from the Rolling Stones to Pink Floyd. Even David Bowie.

As hated as disco generally is, mostly with merit, some good material did come out of that period.

Yeah and it's weird since I'm not a fan of disco. I guess there are exceptions to everything.
