Your Received Medallions

  • 🔧 At about Midnight EST I am going to completely fuck up the site trying to fix something.

Soooo....@Trickie bought me a Rosechu medallion and I just received it today. I actually kinda like it. It's very light though so I don't want to wear it or I'd break it. It's unglazed so I might use some glaze on it because I plan to use it as a rearview mirror decoration.

I wouldn't worry that much about it breaking. Model magic is light and fairly hardy. Chris wore it for years and it wasn't constantly breaking.

Plus, he did enclose instructions you can use if it breaks.

Man, that Rosechu would look so much better (Yeah, I know, it's Chris, but...) if it didn't look like he used a pink highlighter on it. Unless your camera's making it look so bright. Then again, I'm not a fan of pink.

Otherwise, pretty good by Chris standards. He's done a damn good job so far if he's made 60+ already.

I can't wait for my mystery medallion. Does Chris give you guys a tracking number or no?

he's printing his little manual now. anyone reasonable would fill one side of the page in excel or whatever with copies of the "manual", print one sheet , and cut out all of the squares, or use an xacto. There's a chance that this is what Chris is doing, but still, I would not be surprised if he types the two lines, prints it out, cuts them, and wastes a whole page for the next one.

Now, this is something even more farfetched. but I'm all squirtle'd up so bear with me. Knock off anime figurines are made of a resin that is more brittle and thus cheaper, so I've seen that many of the pages that sell these figures online have big disclaimers all over that if your figure arrives with one part broken, it's not their fault, and you should expect it, but it's cool because you literally just need to 'put it back with krazy glue'. Now, we know how Chris is with originality, and he always goes for cheap things, so he might've seen those disclaimers and thought it would be something perfectly adequate to add to his own product. Either that or he did some testing somehow and found them prone to breakage or, he had the foresight to think of transit damage. I don't know which one is more likely.

Can I rate my own post autistic? EDIT: No I cannot, I wish I could!

Yeah it was a very bright hot pink so the camera isn't lying, lol. I actually thought he might go with a more muted pink myself.

Why wouldn't you want a medallion that's pink enough to burn a hole in your retinas?? Looks pretty good otherwise, though. Who knows, maybe some time in the sun will dull it out a little.

I just realized, though, we should've asked him to do the thing with the flower in her hair. Too late now, I suppose...

@Ron_Swanson There's your precious rating.

Yeah, looking at the original Rosechu medallion on the eBay listing, it's waaaay too bright. Much better quality though.

Did anyone ever order a yawning squirtle medallion?

Yeah, look on the early pages. It had some really supbar coloring on it.

Edit: Page 4.

Now that I'm looking at the Ebay listing again, it only says "12 sold" (which includes me) and he has 15 feedback related to medallions.

Is he fudging the numbers, selling medallions off of eBay, or is eBay's system really shitty?

Edit: Disregard me. Dumb, staying up late, and deserving of a few dumb/autistic ratings.

Credit where credit's due, that Rosechu's not bad. I wonder if he's getting better at these, or if he just felt like trying this time for some reason.

Maybe both.
Perhaps in Chris's mind, Sonichu still matters deeply, and he tries to make the medallions look good to honor Sonichu and his buddies.
Sonichu (is?) was his pride and joy, and just maybe he is putting some effort into it for the sake of his pride. He may not put any effort into mowing the lawn, but maybe he would put some in Sonichu. So he makes the medals to the best of his abilities because Sonichu deserves it?

Was it Trickie who got that autographed cwc portrait asking for a photo of herself?

If she was, given she ordered the medallion for Radi, maybe chris recognized the name?

Rosechu is sculpted well but the pink used for her fur looks terrible from the photos. Stupid question but is crayola model magic different from clay?
