Your Small Daily Health Improvements

in addition to the above, get some vitamin D in your system. Turns out part of the reason I've felt like shit is because my vitamin D level was so low. Took 1 massive dose weekly for 12 weeks; am now taking a smaller dose daily. Never felt more energized/better in my life
You have a chance of getting kidney stones if you take very high doses of vitamin D all at once, 5,000 units a day is ideal imo

Been hitting the gym consistently for over a month and now see some results. It's not earth shattering by any means but just enough to keep me motivated to keep going!

Slow and steady but feels like I'm gaining both muscle and more control of my own health!

Keep going kiwis, we got this ❤️

Like any other new hobby, the difficult part is gauging whether it's a new habit or a shortlived thing. I'll stretch for 3 days then skip two days and suddenly it's out of my mind again. I've seen it a lot in 'toxic positivity' friends. They'll overdose on hopium, hit the gym twice, become near-religious about it, and then stop going and lose all interest.

If you actually get high on it, as one usually does with the gym cause we're made that way, it's easy to keep going. That's how I kept biking; it was genuinely fun and I got to see (and taste on) nature. I used to lift a lot but got a random deep rooted headache when I strained myself so I quit. Tempted to get started again honestly, but I prefer functional strength, so I should just get back into running or biking..

Not joining a gym due to them being way too expensive in my area. I’ve started walking more. I’ve gone from doing 5k steps a day to doing about 13k steps. I also aim to do 8km aka 5 miles a day.

I’ve been doing it for about a month and I feel it become easier as the days go on. The lose it app is pretty good to help manage what to eat.

I’m glad I work from home so I can go on a walk whenever I want.

A quart of whiskey before breakfast, and before bedtime.

Nah. More bananas, citrus fruits, soya milk, and the odd dash of cinnamon in my coffee. I'm not a late middle aged "slob" by any means, I'm, aside from my condition(s), the prime example of a person in their early to mid, to late twenties (I turned 28 on Monday), but I have Type-1 Diabetes, and it can land you in deep shit, and shave decades off your life if you don't maintain your health. Stuff like having limbs amputated, eventual blindness, strokes, and heart disease, can happen to those who can't be arsed properly monitoring their condition.

I mentioned cinnamon because I heard it's good for controlling blood pressure and blood sugar levels.

Been some interesting few days. I've relapsed on a lot of the changes I've done, and while my life hasn't crumbled, my day feels a lot more stuffed.

I tried returning to this imageboard I've used for years but people act the exact same and the content is equally shitty, meaning I couldn't bring myself to staying. I tried dating apps briefly, but likewise the sheer logic of not being a tard made me quit that as well. I had started not watching TV or using my phone in bed but instead going straight to bed a bit later, which I've also stopped cause "I'll continue once I'm done with this series" etc. But in reality I have to put effort into finding shit to watch, making this yet another decision in my day I could do without.

Most prominent is playing WoW again. I've basically quit reading cause having this game to fall back on means I never get to be bored. I don't do shit in the game, but I lack the willpower to decide to read instead. I've never been an avid 4chan user but likewise browsing that a bit. And just like that, hours of my day are occupied with literal trash. Hopefully I can get back to reducing it.

Is biking actually functional strength? A significant number of the cyclists I see are fat little piggies. People might disparage the gym by asking when is the last time you had to clean and jerk something, but I can carry my children without getting tired. I don’t even remember when I last got on a bicycle.

Turns out you're not meant to rinse your mouth after brushing your teeth. I've started 'drybrushing', spitting a bunch and going to bed. It's honestly not even 'not bad', it's straight up whatever. The fluoride is meant to stay on your teeth for a while, and eating actively loosens your gums, so the best thing to do is
>eat, 30 mins
>brush, 30 mins no liquids
>glass of water, at least an hour before bed to avoid piss'n it

Another small health improvement. :)

iirc being an active fatty is healthier than a fatty who cut out the fried food.

Really trying to incorporate stretching into my daily routine and be mindful of my posture. I have a bad habit of hunching over my desk like a wretched Painting Goblin and the nanosecond I turned 30 I started to notice some back pain I've never had. Gently easing back into weightlifting is helping a lot also.
