I might do that with some of mine! I was going to take them to Goodwill but instead I might leave them at the park with a Free sign. When I was a kid that's what my mom had me do with toys I'd outgrown, that way they can go straight to someone who needs them.

Yeah I honestly don't trust places like Goodwill to actually sell half of what they get, so it hardly seems worth it to go down there. But some things I feel too bad just throwing away.

It helps to ask. If you don't want to ask directly, there's always the "I need to buy a present for insert-relative-here-that-I-don't-know-well-what's-your-recommendation" approach.

I saw these at the supermarket and decided to buy one instead of junk food. I'm not overly impressed with its looks, but it's filled with heavy beads that crunch together very pleasantly when I squeeze it. It's more of a fidget toy than a soft toy, which is nice. I will probably pass it onto a niece at some point.

have bought a few for the lil crackers and they’re cute, they specifically requested these cutetitos thing and enjoyed them.

Not as much as the cats though, there’s a cutietito on the floor right now that was hunted by cat and left as an offering.

The same thing happened with those mini squishmallows squish like things.
Lil crackers enjoyed them, the cats hunt them every night and I roll over on a mini axolotl and cupcake and squishville cars in the morning.

Guilty confession: I justify buying squishmallows for kiddos sometimes when I’m really the one who’s going to use them.

Squishmallows have the best pillow texture and are by far my favorite pillow to sleep on, size depends on situation.
But as a full grown married woman it’s not really something I tell people about.

They also get washed every 2 weeks so none of them look rough.

Sorry for replying to this late.I have a very few stuffed animals who I feel the same about. At risk of totally making this about me, the night I left my ex Husband, from a terribly abusive marriage, I had a friend offer to put me uo in a hotel for a couple of nights before I could fly home. My ex Husband came home in a truly foul mood, looking to knock me about. I had my bags mostly packed, but I managed to salvage the four most precious to me, stuff them in my bags, then get kicked - literally - down the stairs to the apartment building before getting a cab to the hotel. It sounds absolutely ridiculous but in that moment, all I could think about, more than my own physical safety, was getting the three bears and and a bunny in my bag, before GTFOing for good. I know how absurdthat sounds, it's ridiculous, and I took a kicking that needed hispital treatment for it, but I've never once, not for a moment, in the nigh on 9 years since I left him, regretted that.

I've always slept hugging a pillow or other support. It feels most comfortable, and without one I can sleep but it's just not the same. I have a bear that looks like someone turned those bearskin floor rugs into a teddy bear. It sits at the foot of my bed. I've also got a dinosaur that is long and filled with the squishy stuffing so it's comfortable to sleep holding onto. I've got several chickens (including a squishmallow) because I've got real ones as pets and I love them. We also bought a giant (like, 4 foot) plush shaped like a marshmallow peep. We did it on a whim because it looked hilarious, but it's actually a very big and soft pillow.

I also sew my own plushies, but they're small and made of felt so not as squishy.

Been autisically searching for my next faerie neopet plushie. Because i am enormous child when it comes to it and they are so rare where i am. I managed to snag this cute Faerie Grundo for my collection the seller had priced way to high been up for 6+ months offered much less and they agreed i am very pleased, also picked up an plain orange kougra for fuck all off eBay.

I have the (now rare) Chinese version of Fox from Tunic, the Rat from Shovel Knight (My profile pic), StoneToss Flurk, and Kenny from South Park. I may get rid of Kenny at some point, he doesn't have much going for him design-wise
 
Cinnimoroll backpack from the shop had a star fall off and is a bit dirty, I could fix all of those issues at work (star was just glued on) but I can also take it home to sew and clean and definitely not just have it sit on my bed looking cute for a weekend.

Very late response, but I like to use a very soft brush, a bit of warm water, and a gentle face cleanser (since I use them like pillows and they get face oils/makeup on them)
I don't like them to get too wet in the process because it just takes longer for them to dry out and I want to avoid throwing them in the dryer. Usually I just pick a sunny day and have them air-dry outside.

so i may or may not have some or many plushies, and normally i wouldn't consider them notable until i remembered that i own a few Teddy Scares

i have the three bottom ones and i have a few from the first set as well. pretty hard to find these days, so i'm kind of proud that i got them when i did. I even autistically kept their boxes

me and my other half collect jellycats, it's an expensive hobby but even as adults it brings us joy. we are selective, most of our collection are sea creatures, though we have a couple of cats, a dragon, and a little fergus frog. his favourite animal is a crab so there's a couple of TY crabs hanging around with the jellycat squad too. they recently put the macarons on the website which used to be exclusive to some shop in france, so i ordered a little green guy because... they're just adorable.

bonus autism: we have a teeny ty alligator, called wallie, who generally gets taken everywhere by me and is actually a known figure within my family and friends now. my mum used to knit him jumpers, and when she passed, my partner went and commissioned a little black knitted funeral suit from one of the local knitting shops for me as a surprise, and i very nearly cried at the gesture.
