When I was a dumb child, I managed to catch Spy Hard once on TV and thought it was OMG SO FUNNEY And AmAZinG and always remembered the name and wanted to find it again.

In mid-teenage years (post watching Airplane! mind you), I managed to find it in a video store and man oh man, was I excited to revisit it and, I couldn't finish it. Literally 15 minutes in was my limit. I was like "What the fuck was I on back then?"

I only recently just learned it was a Friedburg and Seltzer film, and now it all makes sense.


Weeb shit:
I knew a girl who was obsessed with magical girl shit and/or josai anime. I can't decide which one I hate more. Josai is definitely more boring but magical girl makes shonen shit look like high art from the golden age of cinema.
It was trying to be a parody or something, which I can't even imagine. A magical girl parody show; something that's self aware might actually be entertaining. Whatever this was, it felt old and it just rode the tropes while trying to think it was above them.
Wait, that might be One Punch (Joke) Man. I can't even remember anymore. Point is, anime is 90% terrible and any recommendations from weebs is a bad idea.

being self-aware often means deliberately being shit while saying "whoa, isn't this story so SHIT and BAD?"

Game ran like shit, would regularly drop frames down to the low double digits in the middle of a match for no reason only and stay like this for a few minutes to then go back to running full speed. Also it was gay and cringe and didn't hold a candle to the 2009 one.

Bought a copy of Adam Sandler’s first movie, Going Overboard. I had never heard of it before, but I was around 15-16 years old at the time and thought Adam Sandler was the funniest guy.

No hyperbole, no exaggeration, this is without a doubt the absolute worst movie I have ever seen in my life, and I’ve seen some doozies. Manos? The Room? Plan 9? All more entertaining than that shit heap. At least those movies were “so bad they’re good” you can laugh at and appreciate how corny they were. They were still entertaining even if ironically so. Going Overboard has nothing going for it, not one single thing except regret and shame I spent $5 on it.
