We have a thread about the hardest levels, but what about the hardest games in general? What games are so hard that they make you want to throw your controller at a wall, furiously scream and drive a hammer through your screen? Or just ragequit like a normal person?

I can't really think of a single game in particular but games that aren't racing games but then shoehorn a chase scene in really, really piss me off. If the game isn't a racing game, don't put those elements in. I was playing Resident Evil 6 yesterday for the first time and was amazed not only for the basic fact that there was a CHASE SCENE in a Resident Evil game, but also by how inept and stupid it was. Badly designed racing sections are my downfall.

Games that focus a great deal on accuracy.

S.T.A.L.K.E.R comes to mind, especially upon playing it with Master Stalker difficulty. You bleed out due to bullet fire and your guns are often inaccurate due to poor condition.

Counter Strike also falls into that category since it's built entirely around being accurate with your weapons, and focuses a great deal on teamwork.

Dragon Ball Z: Infinite World.

Even on the lowest difficulty, the AI is ridiculously unforgiving in fights and is a complete mastermind with its tactics.

With sufficient mastery of Dwarf Fortress it's not too difficult to postpone FUN really well, but goddamn that game has the most unforgiving learning curve in the history of gaming. Dwarf Fortress is very Lovecraftian in it's attitude to it's players; You are beneath the notice of Dwarf Fortress. It doesn't care whether or not you are able to play it. It's secrets are only for those who can puzzle them out.

Pokemon Omicron with Nuzlock turned on is the only video game I wanted to beat but gave up before I could.
