YouTube Background Noise

Drachinfel's good, but his mannerisms get on my nerves after awhile. He tries way too hard to sound bored and sarcastic, even when it's not warranted.
Especially in his Q&A/Drydock episodes, but not so much for subjects that he's got more personal interest in; like the Italian frogmen episode. I rarely have time for listening to anything longer than 10min, so mostly I don't notice.
Fall of Civilization is brilliant, though. It's rare to find a Youtuber that actually causes me to completely rethink things I thought I knew already, but he consistently manages to do it.
I listen to FoC mostly at night on SoundCloud; with no ad interruptions & playback with the screen off for free, unlike YouTube.

My current favorite is probably Jackson Crawford (professor of Old Norse studies, does lots of videos on vikings),
Jackson Crawford WOULD be great if he'd fix the audio on his videos.

Tasting History with Max Miller is a nice background one but it'll often grab your attention: https://www.youtube.com/c/TastingHistory/videos

And TabiEats, if you're ever in the mood for two low-key Japanese gay men talking about food and travel. Avoid lives though, so boring. https://www.youtube.com/c/TabiEats/videos
