Tom is one of the better YouTubers and I agree with a lot of his takes but I find it more and more annoying to listen to him. Over the past few months his sing-song cadence has become more pronounced. He's like a parody of what an exaggerated YouTube voice over sounds like.

Oh, good, I'm not completely insane. I watched a couple videos that came across recommended, I instantly heard it, and could not stop hearing it.

It's like he has a cadence he slips into which actually sounds more natural, but when he's recording he intentionally tries to break it by ending some sentences with an intentionally different intonation in an attempt to prevent it sounding samey, but ends up making it sound like an autistic pattern which is really distracting and unnatural sounding.

Bring back the old cadence.

No one wants to read who watches this content.
They want to take in information and not have to think about it while doing other things.

It is why we are able to see through this communitys' bullshit most of the time and they hate us talking about them.

It is because we are actually critically thinking about the information and telling them it's bullshit because we aren't passively taking in the information.

The h3h3 subreddit is notoriously bad.
They are the ones who started attacking sponsers for keemstar making sponsers for a while not want to work with youtubers.
Trisha situation was even worse.
Pretty much that entire subreddit is so addicted to the internet they have been known to even attack each other when anyone SUGGESTS they might be going too far.

So this popped up in my feed. Hadn't realized people were deleting comments too. But even aside from that I agree with this guy. Everybody should be researching more, but especially if you are going to take money for saying something.

I think its one of those someone says something but then someone more popular says the same thing then suddenly they all pay attention moments. Neil who originally broke the story just made that video and nothing else, Schafer on the other hand had a preestablished audience built around exposing people for scams and what not so he had far more potential viewers to watch it and then spread it via word of mouth.

If there is any lesson to be learned from this, people on Youtube as a whole usually won't really believe something unless established creators for better and for worse say something about it.

Yes! This is the video I mentioned earlier in the thread. I saw this maybe the first day it got really big but couldn't find it again even in my history. I think he might have privated the video when the news got big and everyone was searching since it and was his only video ever on the channel. Glad you found it/they un-privated it.

Like I feel the guy who "broke" the story is all just a bit...smug about it? Does that make sense? Like he's not breaking the news of the scam because he thinks it's bad but I dunno I just get this personal vibe. Like maybe he approached Established Titles and maybe got turned down or something. Or at the very least he's doing it for the clout of breaking the story.

But this video is just some guy who did his research. If there should be any "clout" for this, it should go to the guy in the video. (There were maybe 4 videos when this first broke and I went looking I want to say with the last 2 years, but this guy was the first.)

Seriously this is so commonplace that I am more surprised people are just realising this now.

Every commentator, no matter the genre, always steals shit from smaller people.
Most of the time too they steal sections, or just flat out plagiarize entire videos.

Worst offenders of this are in the art commentary community and whatever circle you call poultry bob's cabal of retards

It’s crazy seeing that the established titles sponsorship reached a lot of YouTubers. Even an automotive youtuber I watch that deals with “hoopties” (iykyk) had a sponsorship deal with them.

And tbh, as far as troon YouTubers, Jay Exci's fairly inoffensive and doesn't harp on identity politics; he just makes commentary videos or show reviews. And he dunked on Hasan, who's the biggest liberal poser in the game. Granted, I don't really follow Jay on Twitter, but everyone's at least 10% more autistic on Twitter (it practically draws out everyone's more insufferable personality traits).
