TRO sucks but I like him slightly more then internetajay or any of the other "rise and fall of x" youtubers. Also the name the right opinion just screams pretentious to me.

The ironic thing is, Tom DID say in an old video that he used to be an avid browser of 4chan and quite liked it.
But I guess it wasn't "muh 2016 YouTube"; ergo, not dramatic enough for him.

I was going to try and make this same rant but I couldn't formulate the words properly. Thank you.
The original commentary community in 2008-2013ish was just random teenagers or early 20s randos from deviantart, 4chan, or any random interest forum just complaining about random things. They called themselves the "rant community" instead. Old popular names were Hellsing920, Youngbloodfantasy91, Slaphappygam3r, Realmwars, RoshitsuRises, hellfirecommentaries, Asalieri, BlackBusterCritic etc. They complained about TV shows, school, internet sites, other people irl, etc.
Anybody back then could be a commentator if they had a mic, windows movie maker, and/or a shit ton of anime screencaps to use as an avatar. Tons of random little kids would try their hand at making rant videos before getting flamed off YT for being too young to be on the site.
They also got into gay internet slapfights, but they never went to the highly politicized or dramatic extent they do nowadays. They didn't give a fuck about optics or constantly need to go "I disavow" because the internet wasn't everything to them. Them saying "faggot" or "retard" on the internet didn't have any reprecussion on their real lives or anyone else's. They weren't in it to please advertisers or make a living.
They did the same "villain of the week" thing modern day "commentators" do, but they only ever circled around to kick someone if they proved themselves to be a complete and utter lolcow, like Chris-Chan, BenTheLooney, and a ton of other small names no one remembers anymore. Saying a no-no word or offending the wrong person didn't automatically qualify you for "Villain of the Week" status either.
Eventually everyone involved in the original scene moved on with their lives and got jobs because in the end, none of this shit really mattered that much to them. It was all for fun or to kill time. When they left, they were replaced with the 2012-2013ish atheist/skeptic community that epically pwn'd stupid theists, who devolved into SJWs and Anti-SJW commentators who progressively got gayer and gayer until we ended up with the "community" we have to day, full of left vs right grifters who walk on eggshells constantly as to not commit any social faux pas that could ruin their potentially booming career on Youtube dot com.
The changing of the definition of what the "commentary community" is, to me, reflects how unfun the internet has become. Things are way too serious and polarized nowadays. Everything got drenched in the sludge that is moralfaggotry because everyone's trying to make it big on the internet and become the next famous e-celeb, forgetting how to have fun. Everyone congeals into this shapeless blob of similar opinions because they're all too afraid to offend advertisers or people they can leech clout off of.
Anyone who even dares step out of the accepted mass of opinions can get mass-reported by enough offended idiots and have their channels and social media taken down permanently because censorship tools got way stronger and strict over the last 10 years, and people became more willing to allow corporations dick them over as long as it keeps the designated bad people away, not realizing they're going to fuck them over eventually too. 2009 Youtube didn't have the same machine algorithm that looks for naughty words that modern day Youtube does, so people were able to speak as freely and offensively as possible. Now, very few people hold that old spirit of reckless abandon that the internet used to have.
Metokur is basically the last remaining remnant of that community. He made rants on random shit like ICP or Lockerz, then started picking on commentary dramacows like Shadvic/Joshua8428 and Spax3. Even though his commentaries grew more and more political as the years went on, he still holds that spirit of reckless abandon that everyone has forgotten. If he dropped off the face of the internet today, no one would be any the wiser, he'd join the rest of the old community in the real world because he's one of the few people who's actually been able to almost fully divorce his internet persona from himself in real life.

Augie's friendship with his commentary friends is hindering his ability to critique them equally. Had he not been friends with Nick, I'm sure he would've gone harder on him. Nick is a lefty fag and Tommy had every right not to trust him after Nick was telephone tapping John Swan. E-Celeb groups are cancer and if Tom is smart he'll cut his losses are at least distance himself before he makes an ass off himself like he did during the pyrocynical shit when they inevitably backstab him.

Nick acting as if he knows everything about biology AND politics just because he went to college is laughable. Him saying that he knows more than Destiny because he was in college longer is so stupid. You don't just learn everything about the world by osmosis in college. He wasn't doing biology or premed. He wasn't a poli-sci major. He was there for fucking computer science. The most bio he's ever learned probably comes from DMing troons in the class discord on how to buy bathtub HRT.
Destiny actually went around the country to talk to people and form his political opinions, Nick's just been stationary in his computer room reading leftist hot takes on Twitter and adopting them as his political view points.

His accent is one that’s actively learned without me powerleveling at all, it boils down to elocution lessons that only rich ponces have access to this ultimately detracts from most moral fagging points he makes (it’s just so smug with his presentation style) imo. To say it grates on me would be an understatement but it just shows that fangirls/guys are willing to buy into it when what he actually says doesn’t require deep thinking nor is his analysis anything
special/unique.
If you look at Secret life, the production and editing quality on that is amazing and it doesn’t feel like 15 editors are gangbanging each section of the video with their bland/ radically different transitions. Idiot has more money than sense, you don’t need a team of people to edit a YouTube video and it’s not as if the video quality is boosted by the editors either.

I remember they confronted TRO on livestream and he basically fumbled for 2 hours and said he doesn't watch his videos before uploading them. Wish I could find that video.

In a nutshell: TRO collabed with Quinton. Quinton sent a fake script detailing his part to TRO. TRO recorded his part. Quinton then proceeded to make bad faith arguments/take things out of context to try and purposely make his audience misconstrue Rag’s argument. Rags and Mauler call this out and TRO said he had no idea of Quinton’s part due to it being edited into his video by his editor team. Quinton like the mature adult knowing when he’s caught out starts blocking people on Twitter including rusty cage, mumkey, rags and mauler.
