That thing Cyrus said - I'm beginning to notice it's a pattern with John to involve himself with small commentator drama. Pieman, Lanza, trolling Harley with LtCobra, giving retarded takes on Cyrus, the list goes on. What's the deal with that? It's really weird for a YouTuber his (previous) size, especially since it's literally what ended his career and he's still doing it.

And Technicals (I think it's common sense that you're reading this): if you're gonna go in on John, this aspect of his online presence is pretty unexplored in video form, and if you wanna break back out the detective shtick, digging into these no doubt numerous cases of John fucking around in Small Commentary will almost 100% yield something good. Consider it

This issue of commentary content never evolving seems to get worse. Did you know that major players like Kavos and even to some extent other content creators like Kira tv basically read articles to you now? It’s really a joke, say what you want about leafy 2016 style content but at least I don’t feel like I’m watching jinx and stomedy. I remember talking points I made earlier on in this thread and I’d say that those issues have become more blatant. Nick and Augie love the idea of commentary but they are hardly commentary creators - their whole stichk is very much streaming based like sftp and the killstream. Maybe it’s because streaming and talking shit then uploading clips much more easier to do than more than 10 minutes of editing in a video format. It really makes you wonder why Augie chose not to react to tech’s video like he does everything else but instead used his own talking points to the actual subject.

To be fair, WillyMacShow is a close friend of theirs and he apparently gave Augie permission to watch his video in full. I think this is just how the commentary community promotes each other's channels.

Yes. That’s exactly what I’m saying. The Quartering has always been a shitter version of Matt Jarbo (they’re like twins with content that boring). If I wanted a bedtime story I would go to an audiobook channel. I go to commentators for information, then their opinion. I don’t want them to read articles word for word to me. It defeats the whole point of watching a commentary channel if I can easily turn off the video and find it myself. Fair enough if they’re pulling up a google doc that they wrote or a showing ‘evidence’ for 3 seconds. I don’t remember nerd city taking 10 minutes out of his video to read an article about jaystation. Articles can be useful when scriptwriting but if it’s the whole basis of your video then you’re bad at commentary.

Wild spartanz was a bad commentator from the get go because his commentary videos were notoriously bad for getting information wrong and creating drama. He was the first that I can remember for being called lazy in commentary which is quite ironic now.

Speaking of: what is with his obsession with screams, is this a cry for help? The content here is nothing special. His channel basically boils down to a few memes mainly Kermit and Reddit videos for kids. Which are both easy content to make as one is already an existing meme and the other is scouring Reddit, taking a few posts and reacting to them. Also his voice is a lot more forced high energy as if he’s taken speed or something it’s really unnerving. The funny thing is his Reddit videos only average 80-90k each time whereas his “unusual” shitposting videos reach 100k. So, the Reddit videos are not that profitable in the span of his channel - he probably realised that when he saw how successful the screaming compliation did and did it again but so far it’s been rather slow accumulating views (55k so far).

Tried to watch this but whoever is there on discord with him, tbh if I watched Augie I would unfollow his channel. Not because I'm there to watch Augie but the voice just... I don't know. They start saying "Well that's why I'm here, I read the document." and I stopped when they asked for the link on discord DMS so he could click on the videos. I thought you read it? Click on it yourself? It's just a presentation thing for me, your videos could look great and be the best source of information. I just can't take a lispy, nasally voice seriously.

I get it's heavy and Augie didn't want to do it on your own. Maybe don't have someone in your discord when you are talking about pedos, who sounds like a pedo? I dunno.
