Tldr Augie brought on pet retards for Nick to sacrifice every 3 months or so. The commentary cycle of being friendly with someone, growing to hate them, and then waiting months for them to slip up and do something bad so you can unload everything you’ve been wanting to say without getting shit on.

Commentary used to moral fag even harder than they do now, you couldn’t just disregard a guy you talked to for being cringe and gay if you were positioning yourself as a serious commentator. Viewers actually got mad at Nick for yelling at Bowblax for filing false copyright strikes because they thought it was too harsh.

As a woman this might just make more sense to me, but it’s a pretty straightforward dynamic. Someone new comes into the friendgroup, you associate with them, they get (or reveal themselves as) super annoying or bitchy or weird, you can’t say anything because you’d look super bitchy yourself to start shittalking over something so minor, so you wait until they do something so bad that everyone is finally willing to say something and everyone dumps the things that have been bugging them for months.

I don’t really think it’s snakey to “turn on” people in that way, especially when it’s online friends.

Honestly, I've grown to enjoy this cycle in the commentary community once I realized that all their "real commentary" videos is just gay team sports with narrative spinning and they only win when they have the platform dominance to do so.

Why do people like Augie rfc?, he never seemed that charismatic to me, and is only relevant because of his relation to others IMO.

He hosted the show everyone came on and was generally pretty reasonable. That’s all it really takes. People didn’t really watch After Hours for Augie, they watched because he created a good environment for entertaining content to happen. He hasn’t done anything hateable.

He was consistent with After Hours and had regular uploads when commentary/drama slop was at its peak in 2022/2023. It's consistency over personality that gets the most viewers.

His minor interactions with then-unknown lolcows that gradually cascade into something bigger are amusing too.

For me, he tells it how it is. He doesn't repeat his own narrative to death like Mr Lips and doesn't tiptoe around shit like Tom. He seems like one of the more reasonable people in the CC despite somehow having the most autistic fans and orbiters of anyone in the community. Also I personally think he's funny.

Badempanada has been dmca'ing Nick's twitter. Short clips from a 3 week old video is reuploading in full now ig. He also made an instagram post encouraging his audience to report twitter accounts that reupload content.

Augie is probably the closest to a normal dude there is/was in the CC. He actually forged a life outside of his commentary and didn't let himself get too lost in the spiral. He's far from perfect by any means, but I don't think he really cares. He's unapologetically himself and he doesn't really care if you have a problem with that. He's far from unreasonable and knows when to shut up. He can act a bit retarded at times for sure, but a man acting authentically retarded is far better than a man retardedly acting like they're a good person.

Deorio is fat and when I clicked on one of his streams that was supposed to be about idubbbz it was just him talking about how a trump website or trump fan website selling merch that said 'Trump 2028' on it made him "concerned". Like what a gay thing to say.

Not "that's stupid" or "that's retarded" or "trump is super old and gonna be dead way before 2028" no he was "concerned". That was enough of the fat boy for me.

Jumping in on the Oreo stuff: I've had some of his streams as background noise while I'm doing stuff around the house and I got sick of it real fast.
He was playing the h3h3 vod on 1.5 speed or something while playing PUBG or Fortnite and depending on the stream his notification sounds start blaring, all the while he's going on a tangent how he got drunk once and thought Tony Hawk was a pedo. Total zoomer brainrot.

I can't be arsed to look through his VOD channel auto-generated subs to show examples, but he'll often freeze or go "huh, what's that?", "guarantor? how do I read this word?" and get things wrong that most people pick up in basic education. Well, at least he motivated me to pick up some books again and stop listening to youtube slop as background noise,
