I don’t use YouTube that much anymore, so from what I’m gathering just by you saying solely this, is that he tried flexing potentially literally nothing at all of financial worth? Yeesh, that’s something.

The idea of a Commentary Community existing on YT is ironic since most of their videos are play-it-safe, self-proselytizing, self-moralizing and at times grandstanding. It almost seems like the type of community that says a whole lot of something, but it only leads to nothing.

Most of the Commentary Channels from the ones I still watch to up and coming channels used to operate on the fedora-tipping mantle – putting themselves on a higher moral high ground while essentially copying (and sometimes stealing) ideas and titles to try to differentiate themselves from the anti-SJW crowd.

Anyone these days can and still are allowed to have an opinion, but because of the landscape it’s now become over saturated and ridiculous to think that teenage commentators to people in their 20s and 30s think they have the Right Opinion (no pun attended towards him) and their opinions should not be questioned or challenged. Which, yes, is a very bad precedent to head if you want to remain unbiased on a site that will regularly demonetize/censor for not having (or towing) the politically correct line.

TL;Dr - Commentary Channels don’t care for commentary; they only care for attention and ass pats while not thinking two steps ahead as to how their own “commentary“ sounds like generalized advice that can be said by anyone that only has a few hundred, or thousand, subscribers.

I think most of these people get an audience from piling on people that already have a significant base of detractors. The majority that I've happened upon are some of the least charismatic people I've seen on YT and it baffles me a bit how popular they've gotten.

Pretty much. They normally talk about the big stories that week regarding YouTubers bigger than them, but a lot of the time they gotta make the drama themselves. They'll literally beef with nobody schizo accounts that get 2 likes a tweet that talk shit about them. They constantly need content.

I once tried to watch a CreepshowArt video but stopped at the beginning be cause she had a literal 5 minute chimpout about Antoons which was completely unrelated to the topic of the video. Also I don't 100% buy that she was at some point homeless

Surprisingly yes, all of these commentators are in the same social circles and its kind of amazing how far they will go to suck each other’s dicks. No not because they give a fuck about their “friends” but it’s done for the sake of numbers and more money.

Augie and Nick are animated and have some form of wit going for them which makes them enjoyable to watch. They aren't easily phased by insults or criticism and seem to take it better than most others. Bowblax seems to be slightly more emotional than them, isn't as animated but seems to have fun with the streaming which is the most important part and a redeeming quality.

I can't say I've watched anyone else involved, but I did notice that Tipster isn't mentioned at all, and if you want a real lolcow in terms of acting like a bitchmade cunt, that'd probably be the one to focus on. The guy's just an emotional wreck who enjoys making videos and streams on people for drama shekels but the minute he gets flak or someone with actual clout begins hitting him he bitches out, deletes tweets and then starts the "woe is me" party. He's relatively known for pulling the "I'm being bullied by someone" card or "People are trying to cancel me" card when he gets legitimate criticism. You can look at his videos on Suzy Lu and what-not last year and see the difference in how he reacts to her and how he reacts to Keem when Keem gives him a piece of his mind. As an example, he deleted this tweet after Keem pretty much put him over his knee.

He also claims he "can't have a Twitter" because of Ian Miles Cheong.

Basically the guy takes every opportunity he can to claim he's a victim of some kind of conspiracy or shit (I don't know) and play up the pitybux angle. he can dish it out but the fat fuck can't take it, and he's arguably one of the biggest opticscucks out there. And as a follow-up, I'm autistically mad at the fat fuck for trying to throw me under the bus because he's trying to get back into Keem's good graces, when it's never going to happen because Keem hates pretty much everyone involved in this side of the internet.

Kavos, sure he's another drama cow that deserves to be in this thread. Gokanaru not as much, he barely puts out content and seems more focused on the hong kong situation, even if those videos are never coming out.

Kavos I only know of based on his beef with ImAllexx, so idk what other past drama he’s been involved in. Gokanaru’s a stretch, considering how he’s exclusively known for his video that criticized Ethan Klein. He hasn’t put out a new video after responding to Ethan, which happened over 8 months ago. So it's kind of weird to bring him up.

I know there's a handful of commentators that tried to call out the guy, though that's why his thread existed to discuss what happened. Fact that the drama died out pretty quickly makes it more evident that it's really not worth bringing up here.

• Read this thread for some general tips on constructing your OP.
• Read through other OPs for inspiration, mainly involving Community Watch, the Internet Famous cows, and even some channels in Beauty Parlor that overlap with the commentators (like @CeleryBread previously mentioned a few).
• Avoid writing about unnecessary background fluff to pad out the OP, and instead focus on the main info and drama. You want to directly inform people that are new to the topic about the actions and behavior of these individuals, and any past or present drama that's worth discussing.
  • The stuff about John Swan is a good start. You can expand upon it by setting up a bit more background info about his rise to prominence, and then talk about his downfall due to the constant attention-whoring + the lie that he caught himself in. Video @Sprate Header posted does a good overview.
  • The stuff about DeOrio, Turkey Tom, Augie, and Bowblax either needs to be significantly improved upon or removed.
  • Consider adding some other commentary creators and channels that are of note. I've already given a dozen examples off the top of my head to look through.
• OP doesn't have to cover every instance of drama and community infighting over the past few years. Focus on the most interesting stuff, and then let the thread do the rest.
