What is this NCO that Nick mentions a couple of times?

I've heard him (and other scummentary channels) mention it a few times on previous streams/videos. Was this some sort of Discord clique of channels?

This is like forth hand knowledge, so take it with a grain of salt, but after the controversy with D'Angelo Wallace a couple of his YouTube friends supposedly managed to convice him that being overly edgy was a threat to his YT career, which apparently they had been trying to tell him for some time, so he dialed it back. I know it sounds a bit absurd that being edgy could threaten his "career", but everyone on YT is so bitchmade I honestly believe it.

If old posts on the site are to be believed Idubbbz didn't change his content only because "he grew up and was tired of being edgy and saying niggerfaggot", he was also at risk of losing his channel if he continued making what he was making (he was partnered with Maker Studios, the Disney owned MCN that shitcanned Pewdiepie after his controversy). Old commentary group. Originally formed to counteract Keemstar's influence on the commentary community, later fell apart for a variety of reasons. A lot of 2018-2020 commentators got their start in it.

True, but iDubbbz is a 5m+ sub YouTuber who works with major brands, whereas Turkey Tom has like 200k subs. I understand the concern in both cases, but they feel really disanalogous.

Actually, I think this is importent to note. Unlike iDubbbz, Turkey Tom's content isn't really dependent on his humor, so being less edgy doesn't effect his videos in that regard.

Toms easily the best of the bunch, which is hideously sad because he's barely a legal adult. I don't know why Vega is on the podcast though, he makes decent VFX videos but that's about it. But I guess since Nicholas sucks the dude's dick he was made a co-host. De-orio is a dumbass without a script to go off of, so I don't know why he thinks anyone would watch his podcast.

The NCO was a commentary community that was made to counteract the amount of influence Keemstar head in it. It was nuked in 2019 when Keemstar tried to work with a few individuals in it to dox a YouTuber named JustDestiny, whom he had called a pedophile on a DramaAlert. In response Keem's channel lost like 3k subscribers which for some reason caused Keem to decide this guy HAD to be a pedophile. He invited several members of the NCO into a Discord call alongside Nicholas DeOrio, Corey Barnhill/Zoom/Godspeed, and Nick Rekieta. Keem pushed the "he's a pedophile" angle hard, leading Zoom to claim the guy is named Michael Sherman who lives in New York and he's a convicted sex offender. Keem was ready to run with it until Rekieta mentions that the guy was at that time incarcerated and in jail so he couldn't be JustDestiny. Nick DeOrio actually has a decent video on this shitshow.

No, that account was john's alt before he deactivated. That vid of cobra saying the account was a social experiment was just another troll.
