So this thread fuckin sucks but I saw this live and want to save it.

So back in 2019 tea channel retard D'Angelo Wallace decided to call out Turkey Tom for making edgy jokes in private when he was a kid, and Tom ended up getting his house called by some rando and his parents told about his edgy jokes, sending him into a crisis. He got into a discord call with DeOrio and Tipster and maybe others to vent, and about an hour ago, Tipster posted this in Nick's live chat:

Uhh, I guess good on him for caring about his friends? But the image of this guy on discord in the car while his family is inside having Thanksgiving fucking dinner...

... it's just something else, really.

Remember that Turkey Tom was born in 2002. So someone decided to cancel him at 17 for something he said when he was even younger, perhaps at 12-14.

I think there is more than enough reason for a commentary community thread to exist and to make it out of proving grounds, but the OP seriously needs a rewrite. It mainly focuses on the DeOrio-RFC crowd, when the CC comprises so much else.

The OP either needs to narrow the scope to just this portion of the community and include a lot more information (NCO, SFTP, Pescatore, Chris Hansen, JournoGate, etc.) or needs to include more information about the CC as a whole (Lionmaker, Baited, Slazo, Rewired Soul, JayStation, etc.) (and if he can do both at once, that's even better). The thread is probably still in proving grounds because the OP was very clearly a rough one, and still needs a lot of work before moving. If it's worth doing, and it absolutely is, then it's worth doing well.

I don't know if I strictly agree with this. The 2016 CC as it once existed is largely dead. Save for the occasional veteran of the 2016-18 era like Kavos most of the people from that time either make a different style of content or have moved on entirely. Pryo makes documentary style videos, NFKRZ makes videos about Russia, Leafy is some millionaire stock guru now, the list goes on. As far as SFTP goes I'd just consider that part of the DeOrio-RFC milieu since DeOrio came up off of SFTP and still goes on regularly. Plus, Tommy C goes on the After Hours from time to time and clearly has a close working relationship with them as well as audience crossover. JournoGate came out of the RFC camp and is mostly a meme reference to how they don't trust Journos, not some actual GamerGate or ComicGate style hashtag movement. As far as the NCO, Pescatore, or Chris Hansen go, those stories are mostly historical. They're worth putting in the OP, but only in the same way more info about the 2016 CC is.

Point is, the OP of course needs work, but I don't think the commentary community as it exists today is anything like it was in 2016. People of course make commentary "style" videos, as they have since the dawn of YouTube, but the commentary "community" of 2016 has largely been whittled down to the SFTP-DeOrio-RFC milieu.

Little bit of a disagree on the JournoGate point. From what I have gathered, it's the RFC crowd pointing out that Taylor Lorenz, Kat Tenbarge, Ethan Klein, Def Noodles, and to an extent Matt Turner and maybe Steven Asarch all have some unclear agenda that involves painting mainstream YouTube in as bad a light as possible. Not GamerGate but hardly just a meme imo.

As for everything else, I guess I do see your point about it all being just history, but I do think some of it could serve to set the scene, so to speak.

If there ever is one, I’d love to read it. I loved watching her on YT, but considered the people against her to be mere detractors and didn’t think anything of it. Now? I want to believe her. I truly do, but the more I find, the more disillusioned I become.
