I had a long drive today & I downloaded & listened to one of my favorite autist talk about the Jaydn drama.

Bowblax like Augie isn't too hard on them because they know Jaydn is a loser who's only lot in life is making daily YouTube videos. Something interesting is in here though, at some point Nick joins in to talk about the transphobic fourteen years olds laughing and making videos about Jadyn. Nick also reveals that Jaydn is self medicating with estrogen and that's why he thinks Jaydn is a mentally impaired.
I think all of these guys should have threads to be honest. They aren't cows, they certainly have egos I'll give them that, but every now and again you'll catch them with their pants around their ankles. It happens more than you think because all of them are on air alot. For example something I noticed with Nick that is common is he gets really giddy about a secret or fairly unknown thing, debate the optics on talking about it and how it'll be bad & then just blabbers anyways. That's the same reason why they don't have their own threads because there is too much shit to sit through to get to that. Also let's be honest those threads would get shit up fast by people just complaining about them.

@Wooper not sure why your post doesn't have a reply button, but as a regular viewer of the Goon Squad, I agree with everything you said, especially on Nick being extremely loose-lipped when it comes to behind-the-scenes secrets.

In this clip, Nick leaks the fact that Turkey Tom asked Lord Vega for sex advice over Discord:

Another time, on their podcast, Nick leaked the fact that Creepshow Art contacted Gabbie Hanna about making a smear video on one of the only respectable "tea channels," READY TO GLARE. Apparently Nick had just completely forgotten to edit it out, and many tea channels started reporting on it (but here's Augie's video about it instead):

These are just two examples, but I can attest it's a very real pattern. You can definitely argue that this is a trait worthy of mockery (I wouldn't even disagree), but for me at least, it's part of why I like watching him and RFC, because he'll just accidentally let slip some of the funniest shit ever.

As for small commentators, I've compared them to the Entersphere in the past, and I still stand by that. It's this seemingly never-ending flood of retarded, "terminally online" children that have only avoided attention by hiding their autism in oversaturating the genre with daily uploads and routinely deleting their tweets. As I pointed out very early in the thread, one of the funniest things to come out of commentary is Raintism, the iDubbbz copycat who faked having a heart attack to avoid being made fun of:

The core issue with this thread is that there just isn't enough interest to dig into any of these people. The only reason the Entersphere became as big as it was was because they showed up here in fucking droves to fight in the threads, thus fueling interest. But without that, there's no draw to actively engage with and make threads on these guys, which is a shame. I know a while back there were a few people in the Beauty Parlor (one of them being @heatboss) who were doing some digging on Tommy C, but I think when the Goon Squad stopped going after tea channels as hard, they lost interest (feel free to correct me if I'm wrong). So, we're kind of at an impasse until something big happens.

... Does anyone even care any more?

Swan's still struggling lmao.

He tried to get into it with Smaggle, the top RFC sperg, over the below take.

Not completely autistic small commentator Anonymity jumps in:

Aside from the above, apparently Smaggle is about to have a video made on him by another small commentator that even I've never heard of. Honestly, if any z-tier commentary orbiter deserved their own EXPOSED!!!! video, it would probably be Smaggle.

"I made a MISTAKE and it made me DEPRESSED stop BULLYING me!!!!1!1!1!1!1111"

or get a new hobby john lmao
John like Jaydn admitted that they have nothing else but YouTube in their life. These younger creators got a little clout & some cash and now their life revolves around making videos. It's kinda sad. They can't move on because they don't know anything else.

Pretty much summed up with this clip.
Really once you make a colossal fuckup that earns you mockery or disavowal from the community, you can't come back and have to live with it forever. Only can either admit and roll with it or leave permanently. Neither option is one they are willing to take.

It starts to get so fucking tiring seeing these smaller commentators scream about age of consent or some fuckall topic no one cares about on twitter, which I think is the inherent flaw with the commentary community as a whole. They are so terminally online and NEED a reason to post instead of actually wanting to with an interesting reason/topic. Nobody that hovers around goon squad will ever rise to the top because they are so self contained and never take risks. Personally the only bigger commentator from goon squad I even like is nick, purely because he actually gives an opinion instead of fence sitting like 99% of every other troons in that community, not to mention he’s funny as fuck. The best commentators you will always find aren't, or participate very little in the actual community (technicals, Glink, oki). I think it says something when one of the top figureheads is a literal autist.

I'm not gonna lie this thread made me inclined to make an account here. This thread kinda took the words outta my mouth that I couldn't quite put myself and suddenly gave me a lot of new perspective on Youtubers. Especially that thing with youtubers with drawn avatars that depict them saying their shit in-video, that's almost universal cringe. That particular aspect striked me as the kind of cringe made by people that aren't self-aware of their own cringe.

Dang I didn't know that even the likes of Mutahar and penguinz0 could be cringy by kiwi standards.

If memory serves me right, don't these clowns (particularly Tom and Nick) somehow think that just because they use this forum as "source" for their videos they are shielded from being made fun of by "the good ones"?

Also, it's really funny that Nick somehow gets actual enjoyment and self-gratification out of making fun cows like BuntyKing and Suzy.
It's almost as if he is so miserable that his videos are a way for him to feel that his life is not a total fuck up.

Guyzz he went to Caalege. He definetly has a social life and knows how to get pussy.

Would EmpLemon count as a commentator. He kind of has the same mentality as these losers, that of which YouTube is TOTTALLY a career and pls acknowledge me as someone contributing to society. Seriously, these retards think that just because you have a job or a career "you're a miserable tool and a slave", they are the ones doing what they LOVE doing for a living.

I've never seen Tom say that using here as a source means he shouldn't be made fun of, but Nick definitely acts like it sometimes. I remember when this thread was first made, Cecil Mcfly had linked it on her Twitter, and Nick was like "WOW THANKS FOR LINKING MY DOX" even though Nick wasn't even included in the OP at that point lmao

I wouldn't count EmpLemon as a commentator at all. If you think his mindset of YouTube being a career could count him as one, what about every other person in this subforum? The commentary community is a bunch of people that treat making hour-long video essays like a career, but that doesn't mean everyone who makes hour-long video essays is a commentator, if that makes sense.

I forgot to point out how he "commentates" on the latest YouTube drama on Twitter and how he makes videos on the YTP community (it's one of the most petty shit imaginable).

He also LOVES to make videos about how YouTube is "unfair" to small "creators" like him.

Saying stuff about drama on Twitter isn't really the same as making videos on it, because anybody can comment on drama in passing, it takes a special flavor of autism to make full-ass videos on it.

I agree that EmpLemon's videos on the YTP community can be unimaginably petty (that "Why the fuck are we stuck with you" video is embarrassing how retarded it is), but I'd still consider him more of an outsider/MAYBE distant orbiter of the CC based off of his content output. Obviously he has connections, but then again the CC is so expansive most not-mainstream YouTubers do.

I think the commentary community's content is best described as low effort drawn out drama mongering. They all think Leafy was the pinnacle of YouTube content, and they miss being able to say nigger in videos. They all love cameoing in one another's vids like they're some kind of breadtube clique, too. And they all have awful "commentarysonas"

The reality is, it's all the same shit; they snipe at more popular creators or one another. They hide the fact the videos are essentially drama podcasts with flashy visuals to keep the children interested. Just look at the right opinion's shit, he has multiple editors per video - it's like whiplash. If you come away from a video thinking "why did that take an hour to say so little?, then you're watching a commentary channel.

Being a YouTuber isn't a real job, sure you can make money from it but it still doesn't count as a job or career.

I’m not sure if this thread compels me or repulses me from being a data collector and commentator. On one hand no one can fucking keep to themselves and have the collective IQ of a Lima Bean, constantly swiping at people and getting humiliated, and it looks miserable.

On the other hand, I like doing research and informing people in a clean manner what’s going on in places they may not know about. I like collaborating with people on research projects, and overall looking into strange stuff like this is always interesting. Seeing how shit some of the formatting and lack of evidence is, I’m tempted to start one even with my awful equipment with the help of the farms to create more digestible video formats of threads.

I don’t necessarily disagree with you; I feel a lot of these commentary channels started the same way. The problem seems to be when these channels find a modicum of success, it seems to go straight to their heads.

It seems that if your main motivation in life BS, high school level drama, you probably have the intelligence and maturity of said high school child.

Yeah. I never got that. It sort of reminds me reporting styles. Some like to be up close and personal, be apart of a story to create more story, like these guys. I just kinda wanna observe and note. I think the good of the latter I’d want to achieve is that it can’t go to my head, I’m just formatting and collecting stuff. Not much to be proud of there lmfao.

It's all up to the personality, how they handle success or failure, and what topics they choose to cover. I've found through just binge-watching a bunch of this garbage content it's clear when people choose to do it out of a passion for the topic vs grabs for fame and an audience. "Fredrik Knudsen" could technically be considered a commentary channel at times and he's a favorite of many, so it's not like "commentary" itself is considered "cringe"

If you think you want to make commentary content, then go for it. Commentary honestly needs a breath of fresh air and I'm getting sick of all the tea channels.
