YouTube commenters

"Who here in 2025" on a video that is like 4 years old.
it's so tiring. Once I scrolled through a slightly older (but still modern) music videos comments, I think most (above 50% of comments) were some form of "like if you're watching in" (insert month or year) or the variant you showed. It means nothing, especially when a big chunk of the comments are just variations of that.

I swore videos on music never used to have many if any of those types of comments.

tons of old video game music is like this, faggots call it a "checkpoint"
videos like this one are notorious for them. I scrolled down and it's all I see

oh, according to the pinned comment "internet checkpoints" are some faggy thing lol
There's something similar but also vaguer in a way that feels like bots in other old video comment sections I began observing a few years ago and possibly brought up here. SWATHS of comments on old high viewcount videos that just say "DAY [number here]" and then some random shit. The non-botty ones seem to be "day since first watching" or "day since first comment" or some other vague shit. It's very gay but weirdly since it first hit vids people have been clearly trying to assign meaning to it.
You see it on a lot of old YT uploads of niconico stuff. Seriously check the comment section.

Another recurring thing that stands out to me:

Comments that start by listing the purported posters age, race and gender (almost always male). Sometimes a location or some form of status is also included ("veteran", "self-employed").

"26 years old, Black male. Louisiana", "White male. 48 years old." etc.

A lot of these comments are also obviously trolling/shitposting, so I don't really know what's going on.
