Man, it's cathartic to see this happen, but it has to. The MPAA harassed Nyaa's webmasters quite recently which says that the entertainment industry (not videogames) is collapsing.
I guess it took people running out of money due to COVID to stop them from supporting this industry, eh?

Imagine copyright existed when Jesus was alive...
I can imagine that creative types would call Jesus duplicating fish and bread along with making wine from water to be "stealing".

you just have to fuck around in your Heavenly Hosts file to change the dns on where it calls out to the fish servers otherwise it'll trigger copy protection

The thing is that EFF has been known for working on behalf of nonprofits of any stripe. This includes the less than scrupulous ones, of which tend to make money outside of donations through working on goals not stated in their marketing.
I know this as I worked at one of these nonprofits before.

Spotisoy, much like Jewtube Premium, requires an Internet connection once every three days in order to play your "downloaded" media. Which is why Louis Rossmann unsubscribed from Jewtube Premium when he found that out over a camping trip. Literally nigger cattle software.

This isn't the end of the world, even by the time the original RIAA case hit the youtube-dl organization was essentially defunct with the first fork yt-dlc becoming the successor, hell I think the response from the last youtube-dl guy was to remove some self testing code in the youtube extractor and then remove their name as the last active maintainer. The yt-dlc fork was once again forked into yt-dlp which is the current crew. The code has been spread so far and wide now that its impossible for the RIAA to kill the project entirely -- they can swat a few organizations but the legal system moves far slower than cloning a git repository. Eventually this annoyance will just lead to a large scale darkweb git site for these projects.
