I regret to inform you all that the only video that has ever mattered in the history of youtube.com, "Kid gets hit in the head w/shovel", has been killed for "violating YouTube's policy on violent or graphic content."

There are no surviving archives on the Wayback Machine, although much of the video's original comments, tags, etc. from the Golden Age are still preserved.

The slow-mo version is still extant (and archived to my hard drive now), but it's just not the same.
If any of you guys have the original video archived and can post it ITT, I'll write you into my will.

My time to shine.

I have an mpeg and it is so ancient that my browser doesn't truly recognize it as a video. I tried to "repackage" it losslessly in an mkv but ffmpeg failed, and I did not try to reconvert. If it plays for you, good. Dear janny, I did not insert it into the post as media but left it as an attachment to the post on purpose because of that.

I tested this out on my iphone and sure enough, it looks like these settings aren't available to ios plebs.

So apparently brave://adblock which has braves adblock settings, isn't on the iOS app due to Apple regulations.

They might make these available for iOS eventually, but brave nightly isn't even on iOS so it won't be any time soon.

While looking this up I found that the "fanboys annoyances" setting removes "download our app!!!!!!!!!" popups which is great.

With all these enabled you can actually get a pretty good ad-free youtube experience. Even on iPhone, which doesn't allow sideloading any ad-free youtube apps.

I’ll add fanboys.
But anyway, I did more testing and found the issue…sort of. Going to YouTube via a link to a video will result in the black void you you can watch but can’t control. But going to YouTube and then manually finding the video either through a search or from your subs gives you the intended YouTube result.
I can’t tell if that’s YouTube or just a very weird bug in Brave IOS

I'll add on to the recommended video downloaders and plop Tartube down here.

I've recommended the program before, and thus far it has served me well. It's a good GUI for those that are not inclined to tamper down too much with the command line, and it's quite feature rich to boot, save for a few items on the docket that it lacks.

Otherwise, my primary issue is locating good storage that is both good and cheap. I've heard it echoed in the thread here that it is apparently quite cheap. But if so, I must be looking at the wrong places, because the stuff I have been looking up costs quite the pretty penny. Granted, it might be that my search parameters are inadequate to the task at hand and that the usual search results are just tampered with by my search engine of choice.

Regardless, I am close to filling up one of my 4tb drives, and the other will probably soon follow in the wake of this news. Add in redundancies for fear of drive failure, and it all starts to add up very quickly. I've been looking to see if there are any decent beginner NAS for linux users such as myself, but there doesn't appear to be any good material out there for beginners to such a thing. I'd like to invest, but I hardly know where to start. Too much information to analyze and digest. And I have terabytes upon terabytes of channels and old playlists I still need to archive going all the way back to 2009. I've been diligent in trying to archive what I like, but I have only made a dent in it thus far.
Come join us in the home NAS thread, homie.

The bong sound is perfect, instant classic. Thank you for archiving.

Why is YouTube making the experience of every user worse just to get back at the 3 percent of people who are autistic enough to even know how to block ads?
