Got this for the first time today
I'm using the Brave browser. Anyone else have similar issues?
Is this another annoying little temporary fix in their ever-escalating war on adblockers?

Sure looks like a Brave Shields specific issue.
Vids work on Brave with Shields off, ubo on.
Also work on Librewolf with ubo on.
Guessing Shields just needs to be updated to evade whatever change of the week Google put out.

adguard plus still works. I get a black screen when YouTube tries shoving an ad down my throat.
Press f5 and then the video plays without an ad
Adblock plus plays the ads
Firefox focus asks for sign in “to confirm I’m not a bot”
Brave blocked
A friend of mine said the Nord VPN blocker has been working for him, guess now the debate is which way I go and which is gonna last the longest, I haven't had Brave mistreat me and the crypto snacks were nice but it may be time to move to greener pastures.

YouTube is at it again, started a video and opened another one 20 minutes later and the message came up. Restarted my browser and updated the uBlock filters, still showing up.

Just started getting this. I'm using Firefox + uBlock Origin. I figure I'll give it a couple of hours and see if uBlock update to fix as they did last time.

Someone in the YT/ad block thread posted a screencap from Reddit and it said to turn off Quick Fixes under the uBlock Filters drop down. It worked for me and that person.

I can confirm that Adguard does work, I had no idea there was a desktop app for it and its doing it's job, free + open source, I can't find any downsides, seems to be the HTTPS filtering is the trick. Youtube sneaking the ads pre-encryption itself which would explain why Brave can't stop it.

Got the same thing. You Tube was running fine until I accidentally clicked on the tool tip for payed sponsorships and then clicked backed. The youtube tabs that were already running work just fine and I can watch videos by clicking recommendations just fine but new tabs are busted.

After updating Brave, the issue is gone. Also, I realized after posting here that there is a thread specifically for yt and adblocking.

Just use invidio.us, PreserveTube or other Youtube alternatives. Why you would use Youtube itself for anything other than ongoing livestreams is beyond me.

I could stop using YT all together even if Google takes them out. There's just nothing really on YT anymore.

Outside of video speed, which is irrelevant on non-streamed videos, invidio.us is superior to Youtube in every way, not the least of which being no ads. Maybe the anon on 8moe autistically bullying people who link bare youtube links instead of converting them to, mp4, invidio.us or alternative links had a point.
