Would 'compromised' be the right word to describe it, however? These are similar tactics used by internet fandoms to take down videos that oppose their groupthink en-masse. By that same line of thinking, lolcows have compromised youtube and are running the show.

Comparing it to abusing the freedoms of democratic nations would be more apt, if you ask me.

After all, we know for a fact that YouTube and other social media platforms outsource the vast majority of their manual content reviews to Asian countries. The general consensus is that only when channels contest the initial moderator's decision that it appears to be manually reviewed by western employees.

Laowhy86 is pretty good and I recommend checking out ADVChina that he does with SerpentZA. They have some older episodes where they ride around and talk about weird shit in China. "Why is everything in China falling apart" is pretty good, "China's Human Flesh Search Explained" as well.
