I've seen these ads too, I think they're mostly for youtube channels owned by commercial entities wanting to advertise their product via yt videos.

Youtube has wisened up and the almighty algorithm now demands likes and comments too not just views. I know this because every fucking youtuber keeps begging for likes and comments for the sake of "engagement."In my day, you just paid for bots to give you views.
Seeing as how from usually it's relevant videos from the things you have watched, it's just crazy to imagine how they're making people pay to be more viewable on the website. I doubt content creators are going to stick around YouTube, considering it's a cesspool now. There are so many good alternatives to YouTube anyway, why stay on it if you're a content creator? He ended up getting about 240k "recommended for you" impressions for his $75, with around 2.5% clickthru rate. Not great, but it could be worse. Oh wait, it is... he usually gets a clickthru rate of between 3.5%-4.5% for videos organically recommended by The Algorithm.
I've got a HUGE popcorn bag ready for that just in case it does happen. it will be such a glorious shit show when YouTubers have to search the unknown for an alternate platform. Best case senario, everyone just moves to Odysee since it seems like the "safest" route, especially since it's been getting more attention, although idk how the whole "you need points to upload shit" system will jive with them. Dailymotion and Vimeo have been around longer but i don't know anyone that suses them seriously since they are pretty strict on what you can and can't upload (I've seen people purposefully distort their videos just so DailyMotion doesn't strike them for copywright content). That just leaves the other "right wing nazi" sites (Rumble, Bitchute) that they obviously won't touch with a 50ft pole.Any Youtuber only has themselves to blame for not uploading their content to other sites if Youtube start going under.
It'll be hilarious, seeing as how I doubt YouTube will give up, they will persistently update the ad blocker, and it will just lure people to these other sites, which should've happened a long time ago. YouTube has a problem with trying to censoring people, which is a huge warning sign, but unfortunately, most companies do this nowadays, so either way you're fucked unless you use alternatives.I've got a HUGE popcorn bag ready for that just in case it does happen. it will be such a glorious shit show when YouTubers have to search the unknown for an alternate platform.
