I never saw him use Twitter, so this is news to me. I'd love to have seen that screenshot too. Super disappointed to hear about this, it's a terrible when some content that you would normally like has to have this shit going on.
I used to enjoy his Killcounts, and his talk about the movies and the inclusions of extra trivia and stuff just for casual watching and when he sticks to that I think it's fine enough. But I've been noticing more of his political stuff creep in and it's been making me less and less of a fan.
At first I thought maybe it was a bit of some CYA stuff, like in his videos for the Black Christmas remake where he said "yeah feminism is cool, but this film does a shitty job of it" or in his Candyman video where he said "there is some racial academic stuff about this, but I'm not qualified go elsewhere lol" which was okay I guess. That seemed harmless enough, or at least like excuses to try avoiding thorny topics. Little did I know that he was just hiding his faggot power level.
I literally could not watch his Candyman remake killcount video, though, since it was more like a porn video where he couldn't stop gargling gorilla cock. He couldn't stop gushing how the all black crew was 'reclaiming' a movie written, scripted, directed, scored, by and about White people. How important it was that all the White people that made the first movie possible (and this this remake) be replaced. Every comment about the filmmaking process had the black faces of the crew plastered on it, with the most insipid comments about race, not talent. In contrast to the video about the original film, where he talked about the skill or craft, here he talked about racial bonafides. For example with the Candyman video you see Phillip Glass for a few seconds, if at all, while James talks about the score and the technical details of the haunting work. In the remake video James puts the new black composer up on screen for the entire time he talks about how important it is that the music be done by a pavement ape. Every part of the video was like that, "Well this was shot by Cameratravonious, and it's great to see this through the eyes of a black person of indigenous color" he says, over a blurry shot that ignores all rules of cinematography.
Maybe I should make a Twitter account and ask him why he's not doing his part to address racial equity by giving his channel and career to some aspiring BIPOC.
