I cannot understand anyone who would watch this for anything other than fap material, and even then it is cringe as hell. Apparently these two are huge on Twitch though, reaffirming my stance that Twitch is the bottom of the bottom of the barrel for content.

They are just shitty live streamers that want to play to 4chan culture with their anon shit. I think they believe they are funny and not just coomer-bait, but there material is painful to get through.

I forgot about Phil, haven't seen anyone discuss him since the Better Help fiasco. He has always been shit.

I'll add someone who I don't hate but whose recent decisions have frustrated me: Randy.

In short he's a YouTuber who started uploading devlogs 5 years ago, getting popular 2 years ago with this video

which was quite entertaining and edited well. The videos which followed were also good regarding the development of Arcane. However, it was quite obvious that he had fallen victim to the common dev traps of trying to build everything yourself from the ground up and starting right off the bat working towards your "dream game" meaning he was progressing at a snail's pace (For contrast, Pizza Tower started around the same time ~2018 and is nearly finished with only a bit of finishing polish needed for release). With that said, it didn't seem like the audience cared too much as long as some progress was made and there was an entertaining video put out every couple of months. For all intents and purposes he had made it. But then as time progressed he meandered into even more side projects - web dev, twitch streams, mathematics, optimizing workflow, notetaking apps - frustrating the audience as even less progress was being made and no main channel videos were being put out. Eventually he decided to quit working on the devlogs and streaming to focus on the game (alongside publishing random vids like a DJ stream where he talked about maybe going on vacay to the U.K., which understandably further frustrated the audience since it made him look quite lazy). The story culminates with him finally quitting on Arcane - killing the raison d'etre for the channel. While I'm sure some people cared about the game itself, the biggest source of grief for most is stopping the devlogs. Randy aimed to rectify this issue by switching to making devlogs for smaller projects (a good idea), but recently decided that he doesn't want to feel pressured to pump out a project for the sake of a video and that he can't serve two masters - YouTube and Game Dev - and in turn has chosen to focus on the latter (seems like a false dilemma to me given that people like Dani or Sebastian manage to do both all the while improving as developers). That's the state of the channel, seemingly abandoned for game dev (I must add that the small project he was working on hasn't even been released yet). In a recent podcast he floats the idea of making another main channel vid in between describing his plans of going to Mali for vacation, so perhaps there's hope yet for a new main channel video but it seems rather unlikely. To me this whole ordeal is like watching a man pull out his 10X stock market winnings to dump into some shitcoin in the hopes it'll go to the moon, just make the facking devlogs man!

TL;DR Cnile can't into gamedev, gives up free YouTube money to become blogger instead

He has 2 guys with him and they can't brainstorm some cool videos. As of writing this, he is watercooling a fucking SSD. Something that even Linus has done like 3 damn times in the last 2 years. I mean FINE you can't get hold of graphics cards. But fuck me, you can't be creative and get some scrap metal and make cool themed cases with it? They did try a podcast thing but none of them are that interesting to hold long form conversation with. So they seemed to have stopped that.

I can see why he was getting so defensive about the Twitch react drama, It's such lazy content why not just react to the actual topic yourself why do you have to watch it through someone else's eyes.

I really really want to like true crime YouTuber, Kendall Rae. She and her husband seem like good people. I originally started watching her back in 2020, but stopped after she did the Johnny Gosch case, a true crime case that I’m autistically obsessed with. (Puzzle piece time) For those who don’t know, Johnny Gosch was kidnapped in the early morning hours on his paper route in West Des Moines, Iowa and believed to had been sold to a human trafficking ring that involved the Franklin Credit Union in Omaha. (I recommended watching Who Took Johnny Gosch? and reading The Franklin Coverup. Last Podcast on the Left has a really good episode called “The Satanic Government Pt. 1 & 2 that are great if you like podcasts and this story interests you. It’s absolutely, certifiably insane.)
In Kendall’s podcast called Mile Higher, they mention that Johnny was kidnapped on 42nd street in West Des Moines and the kidnapper supposedly asked “How do I get from 86th street from here?” Kendall and her husband thought that question was weird and out of place BUT if they had taken the time too look up these locations on google maps, like I did, they would realize that he asked that because 86th street is pretty close to his house and a very busy road, so it’s a street that Johnny was probably familiar with. It’s an easy question for a perpetrator to engage with a child in order to kidnap them. It’s hard to tell what the streets looked like back in the 1960’s but if Kendall took two seconds to look on google maps they’d have their question answered, and add a little depth to their podcast.
Myautism was triggered so I stopped watching until recently she had my favorite true crime YouTuber on, Stephanie Harlowe, who is as autistic as me when it comes to looking into cases. I thought if Stephanie gives Kendall the time of day, she must have gotten her shit together. Nope, it’s worse now.
Kendall and her husband, essentially, plagiarize documentaries, retelling them and calling it “research.” They’ll watch an episode of dateline or a Netflix true crime series and create a script around that narrative, doing little to no research of their own. It’s pretty pathetic and lazy. You might as well watch the documentary on your own. At least you get the entire story and visual from the source material.

Welcome to about 90% of the True Crime stuff on YouTube. Almost none of it is any independent research. Instead, they grab the bullet points of cases off of various documentaries and act like it's all stuff they uncovered on their own.

You'll notice a lot of them even reuse the same clips and pictures from the same documentaries.

Virtually none of them have done any actual research like looking into police records of the cases, talking to people associated with the cases, ect.


Unrelated, Ambiguous Amphibian is a pretty well-known Project Zomboid streamer that used to make some interesting challenge videos I'd watch. But these days his stuff is all the same and he does a bunch of obnoxious faux-philisophical commentary that makes half of his shit unwatchable.

I've also had some euphoric atheist called Telltale popping up in my feed, probably due to listening to some documentaries on various cults. So I watched a few.

Pretty much all her thumbnails consist of her wearing a bunch of makeup while making a cutesy/sexy face. I wouldn't care, except that these are true crime videos.

Honestly, she isn't the worst of the bunch. I sometimes listen to her videos (she's a step above the other true crime girls since she does more than just skim the Wikipedia article while making pouty faces and twirling her hair). But I only listen. I can't stand watching some chick get all dolled up and check herself out in the viewfinder while reporting on a gruesome murder. How huge does your ego have to be to think that's tasteful, and why on Earth does this behaviour never get called out? That, and she plays up her accent to sound extra cute or whatever. Like lady, it's not the place for that sort of crap! What is up with the makeup and murder genre?

Does anybody here have any recommendations for female true crime YouTubers who don't pull that kind of shit? I remember one from awhile back but she took down her videos and left YouTube if memory serves correct.
