From what I've seen, bronies on the whole are generally pretty morally firm (or at least comparatively). Honestly the difference probably boils down to the furry fandom being inherently fetishistic, as opposed to MLP which is a little less clear-cut

This is amazing, the whole call with this guy is like a playbook case study of narcissists and how they manipulate and try to get others' pity as an excuse instead of actually taking real responsibility when they do something awful.

Considering the fandom and the people within it, I'd put money on both:
A) That vague number is being inflated or at least mis-remembered on the side of a larger figure for dramatic impact
and
B) of those people that did come forward, about half of those were just looking for attention and asspats OR just mentioned "I always thought he was creepy"
