The Caribbean is being hit AGAIN. This time it's Hurricane Maria, a category 5 storm with 175mph winds. It looks like Puerto Rico will take a direct hit, followed by possibly the Dominican Republic.

Monster storms like this are now a way of life for so many parts of the world. Climate disasters are everywhere.

This seriously tops the most mental people I have ever encountered. Perhaps even as insane as CWC and Vordrak. But on top of it all, she also manages to be a horrible, horrible person and even more unlikable than Vordrak I would say.

There had been others who had done the same starting a decade earlier in Montgomery. In fact there were several court cases against the Montgomery bus rules. The NAACP decided to make Rosa Parks the public image of this because out of all the people that had done the same thing she was considered the best face to put forward. A black gay man or prostitute or otherwise social unacceptable was not going to serve the NAACP purposes.

Back then the NAACP tended to do a background exam before deciding to make a matyr or figurehead of someone.

the rap video mentioned on the second picture, majority of dislikes must be from people who confused her with batshit zarna. Not sure why people think only one person at any given time only has their name instead of possibly dozens, hundreds, or even thousands of people having the same first and last and sometimes same middle name.

I've seen this as well. I think it's an intersection of the pseudoscientific fears around personal care products that crunchies (hippies, quacks) have. Much of this kind of stuff has been debunked by sites like The Beauty Brains, FutureDerm, Colin's Beauty Pages etc. A lot of people into quackery believe that soap and other personal care products will give you cancer and other diseases because according to them the skin absorbs most of what you put into it into the bloodstream which is not true because skin is actually a good barrier and keeps most stuff out. Then you take this kind of pseudoscience plus social justice people who don't trust corporations because it's capitalism. In the end for many of these people there must also be an element of laziness and justification for it for muh fuck the patriarchy.

It's hard to understand people so fucking dumb they don't understand that skin literally exists to keep the stuff inside you inside you, and keep the stuff outside you outside you, and that if it didn't do a pretty good job of that, you'd already be dead.

Why don't you prove that you're against genocide by taking down the white supremacist patriarchy? Why don't you follow the leadership of People of Color in their fight for racial justice? Why don't you show up to be an ally to Women and Femme people in the fight to dismantle rape culture? Why don't you defend Mother Earth from the relentless consumption of capitalism?

If you're not doing any of those things, you are a white male committing genocide. You have always been a white male committing genocide. Your denial isn't going to change that fact. Your white male fragility is only going to prove how harmful you really are.

What I don't get is how she matches these apocalyptic beliefs with her actions. If she believes these genocides and mass murders are really happening, and being perpetrated by every white man, why isn't she going full Paddock at an Elks Club meeting instead of complaining online? Alternatively, why isn't she in hiding overseas from a government and the 50% of the population that could and would kill her?

Oh yeah, this is the progressive vocabulary, and "genocide", "murder" and "rape" are just words you use to describe things like borders and markets and dudes on the subway who sit with their knees apart. I suppose I should be thankful that she's at least self-aware enough to know that, at least on some level. I'm reminded of those gangstalking crazies when she goes on her rants, but because she's screaming about cisheteropatriarchy instead of the eternal lizardman she's evading the men in white coats.
