Definitely not soulless, the game has so many little details to it they clearly put a lot of thought and passion into it, especially since apparently its this team's first game and they were left to kind of do whatever they wanted. The hub areas are very lively, tons of different background NPC designs and dialogue/stories going on, and every mechanic is baked into the world in a digestible and interesting way. There's lots that can be said about the combat but they clearly didn't cut corners for the game as a whole.

This was also on the 3DS called "Battle Cats POP" but that version is pretty much a "lite" version since at the time didn't have everything that the mobile version had at that point.

My main issue with both console ports of battle Cats is that you can re-do a stage and get the same treaure rank over and over again, which is just more needless grind. On Mobile, once you get a lower rank treaure, you will never get that rank again and will always go for a higher one if you replay the stage enough times. Ony benefit i could see for regaining the same rank treaure is that it converts to cat food, which you can use at the shop to either 1. buy the "always get gold treasure" helper or 2. EXP points to max level your stats/base/team, but still, it's a completionist nightmare.

It gets even worse, Mihoyo games have a habit to sometimes put a certain data cap on their downloads. I shit you not, Genshin on PC is nearly a 100GB, & it was downloading at 5 MB per second, this problem has been going on for years & still not officially fixed. The only way to fix this problem is:

1: Open command prompt as administrator & type in:
netsh interface tcp show global
See if it's disabled, & then if it is, type:
netsh interface tcp set global autotuninglevel=normal
Just make sure to change it back to disabled after the installation is finished. Just type:
netsh interface tcp set global autotuninglevel=disabled

This also doesn't always work, as I've personally witnessed. I'm actually scared if I fucked my computer with this, cause I don't know what this actually does. All I know is that it worked for many others since years. There's also an ethernet tampering method, but it's too vague for me for understand, let alone explain.

TL;DR - It's literally better to get it on mobile than this shit. Considering you can at least make the argument that you can't connect an ethernet on phones.

I got the shark girl. Now I'm basically just farming for mats, and doing a few commissions here and there. I'm not strong enough for harder content yet.

And how! And its not just limited to the Chinese. If you guys haven't heard about the saga of Snowbreak: Containment Zone the devs have started to completely ignore people that complain about the game after embracing going all in on fanservice.

Summary stolen from reddit:
Some direct quotes of the japanese staff member that point out how they (devs) are aware about the pressures of some modern audience, a loud minority, especially on social medias, that continiously try to change devs vision for their own convenience even when the game's orientation is very clear. This happens in every sexy/lewd games, not only Snowbreak.

Quotes:

  • "the game had been gradually growing in popularity since we shifted the direction of our development, then it finally exploded with the release of Version 1.7 "
  • "... the most important aspect is that the R&D team is very committed to creating content our core playerbase enjoys — a so-called "fanservice-focused" game."

Basically Snowbreak was about to EOL, decided to go all in with the horney aspect, and not only did it save the game it allowed them to expand.

Some menu and attack animation for upcoming characters. I like Seth and Jane Doe the most, both of which I wanna roll next patch but that depends on how my luck with Zhu Yuan banner. I don't roll for Ellen, so I still have lots of rolls.
Seth is Charge blade from MonHun. Jane Doe with ice skating attack is superb.

Unless these chink gachas come to Steam Deck or Switch I'm probably not gonna try them anytime soon.
 
The game has only been out for a week and already there's drama over on reddit thanks to draconian jannies. Previously, there's been quite a bit of lewdposting on r/ZZZ_Official (linked to directly from the ZZZ website, different from r/ZenlessZoneZero), including for the upcoming robot(?) policegirl Qingyi and the further-off pink "Virtual Idols".

But now the jannies are cracking down:
