As someome who's worked in Data Entry for years, it's a VERY computer-heavy job, so it's still a thing that is needed. It was the perfect job for introverts that wanted absolutely NOTHING to do with the other departments that were more "customer service" focused.
I say "was" because the problem is that most jobs now-a-days have downgraded that department into a minor role while attaching it to other things like reception work, which is 99.9% female role. So really, you'd want to look into a field that is heavily filled with paperwork that needs to be entered into the computer, such as the medical field, which is ALWAYS handling things like medical records, EOB's, Denials, Estimates, Medical Bills, etc... whether it's for a dentist, opthamologist, or even an IME (Independant Medical Examiner) middleman provider.
Just keep in mind that there's really no room for growth, and if there is, it's just more work tact-onto the original work you were doing before with a SLIGHT payraise if you're lucky. Data Entry is a good start if you want to work in an office job and hate talking to people on the phone, but after a few years you'd defenitely want to branch out to other stuff. The plus side is that you'll br more skilled on Outlook/Word/Adobe/Excel/PowerPoint/etc...
