I remember seeing it on Steam and while the Overwhelmingly Positive looked tempting, it set off alarm bells of faggotary inbound so I skipped. Out of curiosity I looked now at the Steam page for how many images until I see a sheboon and it is the sixth image

Keeping in mind I know fuck all about this game, it midly reminds me of OPUS: Echo of starsong, the spaceships segments to be precise, and those were honestly a chore to get through. I can't imagine how annoying a game where it's all that plus smug western writing on top would be.

Not sure about obra dinn, but monkey island is a decent quest. One from 90s, that is. It has remastered first 2 games without additions of current year rot. And third one holds up fine with scummvm. It's one of those moments where pretentious fart sniffing snob is right

It was bare bones but passable. I remember it was better in the writing of the exploration than the usual slop Gundam/Hitchhiker's Guide copies.

Monkey Island is peak safe recommendation, like an anime tourist recommending Cowboy Bebop.

Obra Dinn was just okay. Like it is fun, but after the first play through you might as well never play it again. It is the quintessential gimmick game that at least manages to end before it wears out its welcome.

As someone who have played the dev previous game, In Other Water, which at first had an interesting premise about ocean exploration. I can say that the dev message is probably just capitalism bad. The in other water almost had an interesting story but jt ended up as “human are capitalist pig and they should all suffer / have their DNA mutated by having corals growing out of their body for trying to exploit nature” aka Avatar Movie plot.

One of the main plot point of the story was finding our your partner who would become biologically unrecognizable every expedition once we found them which was truly horrifying stuff, but they just forgot it and went back to human bad.

"Human bad" was always weird to me. It's not even unique to western sensibilities since Japanese also really like this trope. It's definitely highly suggests the writer is misanthropic that thinks he is above humanity.

It also almost always comes with a weird double standard where the aliens are allowed to cause harm to humans and environment because "humans don't attempt to communicate" (even when they do attempt while the aliens are immediately aggressive), while humans are blamed for every bad actor as if he represents the majority. The end moral is universally that the humans are the one that needs to change how they act.

To politically sperg, you then look at illegal immigration and see that's basically how it's treated by the left.

I think there are couple of profiles that fit this line of thought. Fuck you dad is the male variant, while in women it's fetishization of the brutal savage that fits a paradox of being oppressed by society, while also being justified in lashing out because he is an embodiment of strength.

Of course there's just simply using those as moral grandstanding because it's easy to preach tolerance when being detached from a conflict.

Yathzee recommended the previous installment Citizen Sleeper 1 and he, if I remember correctly said that the setting is cool but the gameplay is easily broken. Which part of me wanted to scream “Nigger you are a game reviewer not a book”. Then again he is more of a snoy story type of guy.

But on the topic of human bad, I found it funny that the exact opposite of the feeling is the “Human are the best” feeling you get from Starship Troopers / Helldivers/ EDF. I could relate to those media better than human is bad because it’s just more hopeful, even if its full of sheer stupidity. With human bad it’s just, now what?

Like we all know colonialism and imperialism is bad, but it’s not like 100% bad. There are growth from country that have been colonialised (example, Singapore). The human probably exploited the shit out of the alien because we it’s much safer if we do so when they first met. The humans probably would try to work together down the road, when we understand more about the aliens.

It's a point that really annoys me with how most people talk about video games stories. They want it to be either films or books, either cinematic without player input or just glorified linear affairs with tons of text. A good game story doesn't need to be complex, it needs to combine events happening with player action to make the experience feel much more personal and important.

His biggest argument for the game is "I was having fun", which is in the same league as "Don't understand the hate, I'm having a blast". Fucking retire already.

Considering how lame and retarded Yahtzee is, I am not surprised. This is a perfect game for him, it just about matches up with his expectations from all the niggerfaggots to pretentious dialogue that ends up meaning nothing to your average player.
At least it wasn't made by a BIGOT like JK Rowling, despite that game being similar open world slop!
