I just read it and it was spot on in describing the nerd anxiety of wanting video games to be called art because they just wanted to be taken seriously / needed validation. I don’t know how old this article is but it was like reading an accurate prediction of time capsule.tho here's a transcript:

Unless what he was trying to say that Games is always been art based on the wikipedia definition of recurring pattern that elicit emotional response.
