It doesn't matter what animals want. Animals want a lot of things that aren't good for them. If you gave in to every desire that an animal actually wanted, your animal would probably be dead. Your dog wants to run away from the house, it wants to eat garbage, it wants to eat plastic toys, it would eat chocolate or any other poisonous food if given the opportunity. It definitely doesn't want to get shots, be examined by a vet, doesn't want to be spayed/neutered, wear a dog cone, or have surgery when it needs it. It doesn't consent to those things. But ultimately, you are in charge of all these things. And when you make sure your pet is safe and doesn't get itself hurt, it will be healthier in the long run. You are in charge of your pet's well-being.

Having sex with your dog or molesting it is unnecessary and selfish. It benefits no one but yourself. It will betray your dog's trust, traumatize it, give it behavioral problems, damage its genitals, etc. I'd love to see a zoophile try to name one beneficial attribute to raping their dog.

I completely agree with you here. There are plenty of things that your animal doesn't consent to. Consent is 100% a man-made concept. But morals are also a man-made concept. Raping an animal is morally wrong. Nothing will ever change that.

Even incredibly intelligent animals like elephants that mourn their dead still cannot comprehend the scale of thought that humans enjoy. Same with children honestly; there's a lot of shit that needs to be done with kids regarding mental, social, and structural stuff outside of their consent in a nonsexual context just as part of their everyday existence, because children (like animals) are fucking stupid and will often endanger themselves which makes you, as a presumably reliable adult human, responsible for their health and well-being.

A baby might not actually enjoy getting it's diaper changed but it needs to be fucking done otherwise it might get sick and die. A horse might not actually like getting it's sheath cleaned but it needs to be done otherwise it'll get smegma beans and can get dick cancer and die. Making the argument that "animals and children can consent" is coming from the cavebrained mentality that animals and children can adequately comprehend consequence when most of the time they can't; and when they can, it's typically short-term consequence rather than long-term. This comparison between animals and small children is also adequate because, in a lot of cases, the domestic animals and children share a lot of the same mental capacity.

For example, did you all know that cats are shit with object permanence, just like babies? That's why if it's raining at a front door they'll got to the back door, assuming that it won't be raining there either. It isn't because they're 'assholes', it's because they're dumb and can't comprehend that both the front door and the back door lead to the same outside, even if they walk around the outside of the fucking house every day. Babies are also like this, except babies can grow up and develop object permanence as they reach adulthood. Some cats can develop a kind of object permanence, at least towards some concepts/objects/places, but it's very hindered in that regard compared to a human adult.

Basically what I'm saying is that, given most animals have huge hormonal swings in order to pressure them to breed, there's a chance that they don't even mentally connect the concept of mating = babies in the long term depending on how their brain processes long-term memories or actionable consequence, let alone any other issues involved with reproduction. Which makes fucking them for any reason inherently opportunistic and predatory, regardless of "intent".

Ideally consent and boundaries can be taught as someone grows older in such a manner (especially if the child in question is starting to show signs of personal independence), but if someone is not self-aware enough or capable enough to take care of their own hygiene for the sake of their physical health then they still qualify as a dependent.

Most elderly people, even those with Alzheimers, know what consent is and how to exercise it; saying yes or no to specific actions, such as changing them or helping them shower, is possible. They understand what showering is, and that it's important to their overall hygiene and health. Unfortunately, due to their mental illness, they may not be able to recognize precisely when or why someone else may need to take care of their hygiene for them. You may be able to explain to them, if you think it'll help ease their distress, but individuals who are severely affected may not understand that they are, in fact, 85-years-old and bedridden. They may not understand what is going on even if you explain it to them. But they still require care and assistance.

Relating this to sex makes it exceptionally manipulative and malicious to take advantage of them under the expectation that they either aren't going to remember what happens, or that they do consent but only within the confines of their immediate memory rather than being able to recall the full context of what they're agreeing to or who they're even agreeing to have sex with. This is a grim example (nobody wants to imagine their nana getting boned) but conceptually speaking animals exist in a similar framework. They can feel things and grieve loss, and some can even grieve for a comparatively long time; most animals, however, lose recollection after a certain period of time regarding specific actions or individuals unless reminded in semi-frequent periods; or, at least, this is the case with the vast majority of domestic animals (dogs, cats, etc.).

Unlike changing someone's diapers or showering them, though, no person on the fucking planet has ever died from not having sex outside of perhaps some bizarre, one-in-a-trillion genetic disorder. Not even mammals that go into heat die if they don't fuck. Really the only time someone dies from not fucking is if someone develops depression and kills themselves, but I'd argue that most people wouldn't kill themselves just for not having sex (otherwise the incel groups would be much better at self-culling). If anything, the likelihood of death relating to sexual activity spikes from sex itself rather than the lack thereof, due to things like infection, pregnancy complications, sexual mishaps, etc.

This isn't intended as an argument for abstinence, either, since sexual repression can fuck people up just as bad in a mental sense , but I've always been rather disgusted with the argument that sex is a "need" akin to food or shelter or water when it very much is not. The only people IRL who I have ever known who consider sex a "need" required for them to stay alive are hypersexuals who can't get off normally, and I'd argue that's more of a mental illness problem than purely a sexual one, especially since a lot of them wind up in the news for flashing people on subways and stalking. One would think that if they require sex constantly in order to stay alive they'd just go find cougar like a normal human being and leave it at that.
