I lived in a major city for about three years, which is the longest I've spent in a city. It happened to me twice, but it was not really a catcall, just some black dude yelling that he liked my shirt or some other incoherent thing that didn't register. It's the yelling that annoys me just because it's startling and I don't like to have to interact with people on the street!

But hey if I had actually bothered to dress up that day, I would probably graciously nod if someone noticed. It's just that anyone who hangs out on the street probably doesn't have a filter or way of doing it that isn't just "LADY PRETTY" or "GIVE ME ATTENTION." Which just feels discomfiting more often than not. But that doesn't mean they're assaulting me.

That's because you're likely just ugly.
You can't walk in Paris or Brussels outside of the turisty spots without being harassed every few minutes. Belgium had to write in catcalling in particular into their sexual harrasment laws because it was getting so out of hand. Funnily enough it was mostly Arab / black implant doing it.
I wouldn't be surprised if the troons in places like that are catcalled. From the other side of street, everyone barefaced wearing a skirt and long hair looks like a woman.
The shitty thing is- being catcalled isn't fun for women. It’s deamining and intrusive and yet again troons made it their #transitiongoals.

When I was young (like mallrat 14 year old), the blatant harassment came from squids, messicans, and nogs in that order.
The squids were harmless and just like to follow us in the mall. The messicans were aggressive and mispronounced the band names on my shirts. Nogs were always smooove. Like, 'hey young lady you lookin' fine'. It's just something you deal with as a woman, and after a while you master your best Aubrey Plaza RBF and just get on with life - it's something that if you're even remotely attractive you are aware of and can deflect quickly. And no, it's not flattering - it's at first creepy then after a while it's just so fucking annoying. Bought a diamond band just to wear when I go out anywhere and it's practically a requirement on public transit.

That's really pathetic. I thought that subreddit was a place for honest trans people to be honest. I thought the post was pretty spot on. People need to manage their expectations or at least learn to.

From what I've seen this sub was actually pretty based in the past, presenting different narrative than horrorshows like r/traaa or r/asktransgender (god I hate r/asktransgender with passion). But recently I've seen people defending Yaniv there, or "neopronoun users" even and actual insights connected to reality getting dogpilled and shunned.

Because most MtF have no intent on actually fully transitioning. 50% are straight men doing it as a fetish and the other 49% are too busy policing their supposed transition instead of putting effort into actually transitioning.

Huh. I'm surprised none of you lot have seen it more. In my experience: very prevalent in large cities, more common in the North than the South, almost always men yelling out of cars/ trucks, and only done to women who are relatively alone, i.e. the only person on the street at the time (pairs and/or groups of women also eligible). Hispanics and blacks massively over-represented in offending population.

Also surprised that it's mentioned in connection with European cities, where I thought most street harassment was Arabs screaming at women for being whores b/c they are out of their houses without a man and a tent with eye holes.

Won't let me quote, but I'm thinking it's a troon rather than a very unfortunate looking woman for two reasons:

1. Knees. Those are huge knees for a lady, even for a tall lady.

Re: cat calling. I've been cat called before, and it's always been when I'm alone or with another woman. Never when men are present. Cat calling I can ignore tbh. Yeah it feels gross, but if they're just yelling I can ignore them. What sucks is when they sound aggressive, or worse, start following you. I've had instances where some creeps will slowly start following you with their car. It's so scary, you wonder if you're going to end up on some crime documentary later.

no that's a meme, probably dating back to when some muslims in england started larping as "sharia police" and putting up posters telling people to refrain from carrying alcohol or wearing skimpy clothes around their part of town.

the type of behavior you do have to be wary of from these guys is when they form packs and try to isolate and surround you, then you're in to get mugged, beaten, groped, raped or some combination of them all
with these dudes the danger level is very low when they're alone, they only seem to go into predator mode when they're around their friends/family and heavily outnumber any potential target

He has just branched out into becoming a "pop star" and released a video called "DICK."

The video then shows dozens of trans women with the word "DICK" put over them, including Stonewall icon Marsha P. Johnson, who is not trans but they really want him to be.

Several big names appeared in Nikita's screenshots, including rappers Tyga and Asian Doll. Tyga said he shot a music video for Nikita a while back and that Nikita was using entirely professional text messages to imply he was soliciting Nikita.

Nikita implies in the video that Asian Doll "stole" Nikita's look without credit. Asian Doll, a black woman, did not play along.

Everyone is mad at this. Transgender people who think it makes them look bad. Allies who are incensed that Nikita used pictures of dead people. People whose screenshots were misused. People who hate troons. Just everybody.

They do a reasonable job of imitating an actual woman in terms of gestures, rather than a porn version of one, which is probably why it’s harder to tell. AGPs have set the bar pretty low.
