9/16/2021 - Court case gets a continuance

Chris' parents, mainly Bob, already had the distrust of government systems/programs like vocational rehab, and thought it was best to mainstream him. Big help that did. I doubt vocational rehab will help Chris now because of his known legendary laziness, and his belief that no place will take him in because his past antics, which is somewhat true. I think the only job Chris could do is work for a hobby store since that is what he knows since he frequents them, or work back in the stock room of a Best Buy or Walmart. Would vocational rehab program even trust Chris because of what he did to Barb?
It says a lot when huge companies like Walmart or Target have special programs for ex felons but would totally refuse working with a tard of Chris' magnitude.

So this video is gone. Did anyone archive it or were ya'll too busy trying arguing about the insanity defense?

And honestly, there's a lot of theorymongering going on about what a good lawyer would do with Chris but do you honestly think he has one? Lord knows he can't afford one. If he has a public defender, he's getting the bare minimum, period.

Chris lucked out and got a good lawyer working pro bono as his defender.

Not pro bono. He is being compensated by the state for his involvement. This has been discussed over and over.
largely irrelevant if the end state is that Chris doesn't have to shell out anything

I find it relevant for at least two reasons:

1. Court is taking it seriously enough to assign a verifiably experienced trial attorney and not some poor desk jockey. Of course I am not aware of how exactly that local court operates but this is relatively unusual. Could be luck/random, but all indicators point to that not being the case IMO. Not saying that a public jury trial is imminent, but more that the court deemed it important enough to prevent any further appeals by appointing a well-respected and experienced attorney.

2. This shit is actually costing people money. Regardless of how you may feel, I feel for the people whose tax dollars are directly paying for this.

This is just two basic points though. I will agree with you that within the absolute narrowest context of this forum, it's "largely irrelevant." However, I would posit that plusses and minuses to Chris' bank account are not the only ways in which value can be measured, whether it is value in the pure sense or value in the informative sense.

Chris' entire legacy will include him being a worthless leach who raped his mother. This should have just been a government official in a black van who arrests Chris and then whisks him away to a loony bin for the rest of his life where the only thing he has to sleep on is the floor and the only thing he can eat is whatever he catches in his room

Chris has a good lawyer, David L. Heilberg, who was appointed for him by the court.
Fellow professionals recommended Mr. Heilberg for an AV* peer review rating through Martindale-Hubbell/Lawyers.com, a 10.0 “Superb” peer review rating through Avvo and he has been selected to Super Lawyers: 2011 – 2020. He is a former President and board member of the Virginia Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers, and he has been an active participant in the Virginia Trial Lawyers Association and the National Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers.

Mr. Heilberg handles cases in every state and federal court for a distance covering approximately 60 miles in every direction around Charlottesville.

He taught as adjunct faculty for Trial Advocacy at the Washington & Lee School of Law. He is regularly invited to deliver presentations on criminal law topics before groups of fellow professionals as well as college and law school students. Along with Corinne Magee and Timothy Carwile, he is the co-editor of Defending Criminal Cases in Virginia (2012, 2016, 2018 and 2020 editions), a practice manual for professionals in this field, and is the author of Chapter 8: Eyewitness Identification Procedures, distributed by Virginia Continuing Legal Education publications.
He's also tried over 100 cases. Most lawyers settle. Chris, with his usual tard luck, happened to be the one motherfucking hick weirdo to get one of the top lawyers in Virginia, who makes Rob Bell look like a clown in comparison.

I suspect the guy is some kind of crusader and also cares much more about the case than the vast majority of court appointed lawyers. There's a reason he does this kind of stuff.

SO of course chri's tard luck has possibly saved his sorry ass yet again hun? I've joked; we've joked and even said we HOPE Chris finally gets some hard discipline that he should have gotten a long time ago by going to hard time in prison, but as so many have said and discussed on here.

Chris lucked out and got a court appointed lawyer that unlike rob bell, who only took Chris and barbs payment and pretty much left them out to dry once it ran out. I gonna pull whatever strings he can to keep chris in lockup so it can tally up to "time served." Then walk away with a plea deal with possibly misdemeanor charges (albeit a lot of them) and the others dropped simply because the trail can't go on and on forever since it's not a high profile case.

Hate to break this to everyone who was hopping this would be this generation's equivalent of the Cheryl Araujo rape trial but; Warrants to search 14 branchland for semen filled condoms and chris' porn collection take a long time to get approval. As would any warrants to seize his phone or computer. It's very unlikely the prosecution will waste time, effort or especially taxpayer money trying to get access to the house for a search and seizure, especially since barb is back in it an seems none the worse for wear (aside the obvious of course)

I don't think Chris's luck has saved him. He is being held without bond. At the rate this case is going, he's going to be in jail for many months. Time spent imprisoned should not be underestimated as a punishment. When he finally leaves jail or prison his life circumstances will have changed significantly, possibly partly due to court orders requiring him to stay away from Barb, and he may not be able to adapt to the new circumstances.

After Null ditched Chris (hopefully for good), the other candidate who will take the curse is Ethan Ralph.

I've missed it, but is there a man on street recording the whole thing?
And is there any simple way to see the current condition of the case without reading through pages and pages?

Unfortunately, this is up in juvenile/domestic court, which have a lot more privacy laws around them than if Chris went on a drunken car rampage.

Great, so when Chris does this again, we know whose windows to blast out. Anyone who is dumb enough to associate with Chris always regrets it.

Danmn it, I wish he would have run over Janke instead, so we all can enjoy the quality entertainment.
The words spoken in the courtroom, the drama juice, all of it will be lost like tears in the rain.

For doing his job? For upholding the one duty he is supposed to? That dude is just bringing home the bacon and doing nothing wrong, blaming him for the 40 year old manchild who knows right from wrong but doesn't give a shit about any other beings other than himself is fucking retarded!

I think at worst Chris will get some kind of plea deal.
Precisely. Even with a horrifying case like this one, the State of Virginia probably has many, many other priorities other than locking up some fat manchild to rot behind bars forever lol!

He was Court ordered to represent Chris. Ethically he is obligated to represent Chris to the best of his abilities. He could lose his BAR license if he doesn't. Despite being Court ordered if Chris ends up being a difficult client and causes delays he could potentially ask to withdraw as counsel in which case they'll just assign him another attorney. But the Judge has to find the withdrawal request reasonable to grant it. In the end its up to either the judge or jury to find Chris guilty regardless of how well he's represented.
