La Palma is rumbling - What are the implications of a 40 foot Tsunami along the east coast?

Not sure if related, but there's a wave that is projected to quickly form into a major hurricane right after forming.
Other than that, I'm a bit scared. Even if it turns out to be a nothingburger and Mother Nature is Mother Nature, the fact that people are going "nothing to see here, move along" feels worrisome too. Hell, I only knew about this because of this thread.
I have family on the East Coast, I and they never encountered a tsunami, and I know nothing about tsunamis except the basic common sense of "get the fuck out of the place". Don't know how fucked they are since I don't know how fast or slow tsunamis are either, so I don't know if they have enough time if they live in Georgia and travel to the border of Alabama or something.

If there is a tsunami from this eruption the east coast would have around 8 hours warning. If that's enough time would depend on what part of the coast because as I understand it the south is set up to evacuate because of all the hurricanes, since they don't make landfall further north as much the roads aren't really set up for that.

It's also hurricane season as well so they're watching for them as well.

I think this one applies more to Nicholas given the location, but on the subject of quakes and hurricanes:

At least that dream wouldn't happen here, since the post said the hurricane would have a name similar to "Groot". Upcoming hurricane would have the name of "Sam" from the hurricane name list, which is far off the mark of 'Groot'.
At least a full day is enough time and I guess Alabama would be fine, but Florida is fucked either way.
EDIT: Forgot to add, to those not in the know: a major hurricane doesn't mean the hurricane would automatically go up to Cat 5. Cat 3 also in the range of a major hurricane.
EDIT 2: Man, I'm actually getting scared just thinking about this. At least I don't have to worry about Yellowstone because it would take thousands of years for that to happen, but I never heard of this until now and a lot of stuff are firing really close to each other. The lack of news is not really helpng, but I also hope it means the actual people looking into it knows it is just coincidences and people are just fleeing away from an erupting volcano. It's getting hard to calm down from all the doomposting and people are just posting biblical comments on top of it...

Well this is a fun read. That said, I remember watching a documentary on Dicovery Channel or Nat Geo or similar specifically about landslides causing volcanos. I'm fairly certain it talked about La Palma and best I can tell it came out in 2017 or before. It would surprise me zero if he watched the documentary while half asleep or high and then interpreted that to be a prophetic dream.

Kent Island in MD will be thoroughly fucked since it is really low-lying and right in the bay. Evacuations from Kent Island and the Delmarva will either have to be done through the bay bridge in MD, the bridge and Tunnel in the south to VA, or go up north through route 301 or DE route 1. All those roads will be jammed for miles and it would be a nightmare being on one of the roads knowing a massive tsunami is coming your way.
New video about La Palma from this guy. Apparently, the eruptions are supposed to go on for the next coming weeks up to 44 days according to what this guy says and the eruptions are becoming more explosive now than before.
