Businessmen = Big Tech largely. Banks fall behind the Establishment because they represent the uniparty, a group that has done a lot to keep the banks from falling apart. The bailouts were due to them.

I agree, but long term? The banks will capitulate to the Feds. Happens every.single.time. Take the CFPB as the example. They dictated and the banks were forced to comply or face billions in fines.

One of the best things Trump did was knock the CFPB and their over zealous regulations right in the cock. They're basically toothless right now and you hear nothing about them these days when they were front and center in all banking news for many years.

Not in this case. This isn't something the feds necessarily want themselves. This was part of a packet of things that were put up right before the Democrat Civil War kicked off good and proper, and they all appeared designed to try to lure the various cabal factions back. Given it failed, this is running on momentum more than desire.

Things are shaping up badly for those who desire to not eat hats. Trying to bundle the debt ceiling raise into larger legislation gives McConnel all the cover he needs to oppose it. Motivation is found in Trump's threats of primary's, with this going a long way to mollify his base.
