The story as I understand it is that at some point, Suzanne fled her home with the cats. She is believed to have served Lucas with the no-contact order, told him to be gone by the morning, and then taken her cats with her overnight. Whether she did not feel safe leaving the cats alone with Lucas, or brought them with her for comfort in a difficult time, is not clear.
Poor Suzanne has suffered enough, and the fact that she has never publicly made a statement about Lucas demonstrates her class. Alas.
Suzanne took her cats with her because she was afraid for their safety. As can be seen in the last post by Rescuetoast, Suzanne did comment Lucas was mean to her cats and it should have been a red flag. Also in one of Goldoars podcasts the Freak let out when he lived with his mother, she had said something to him because he was mean to the cat. So he does have history of being abusive to cats.
For those who don’t know, this euphoric Facebook quote was originally a piece of graffiti found on the wall of a concentration camp dormitory, I think in Auschwitz. In its original context it has some pathos, in the context of an acne riddled dude sitting in his car thinking he’s owning Christians not so much.

It's a reasonable conclusion that Suzanne did not feel comfortable leaving Lucas with her cats unattended. The "mean to cats" detail is intriguing, considering that Lucas has admitted to being punished by his mother for the way he treated their pets as a kid. Another parallel between mom and Suzanne.
I hate to think what being mean to cats implies. The rest of us for the most part look at cats and think aww cute. At the very least he probably just thinks get out of my way stupid cat. The cat can do nothing for the Wern so he probably doesn’t see the benefits of them being a loving companion. If you aren’t going to do something for the Wern you are no good to him. It’s surprising how stupid he is though thinking through his warped calculations you’d think he’d show off how nice he is to animal companions to attract zoomer baes and say you can pet my cat gen z (I hope he doesn’t). But faking affection for animals is work the Wern is too lazy to do like when he talks about “converting” to veganism for the welfare of animals.
I’ve heard disliking cats in general is actually kind of a red flag for some women. Something about control. Cats can’t be taught obedience like a dog. Negative reinforcement doesn’t work on them, it just makes them resent you. They might choose to do what you want if they like you enough. Abusive men can’t stand that.
Hadn’t thought about it from that angle it’s true cats are their own agents I don’t know if control freaks would like that.
That kind of thinking can turn into paranoid loon territory pretty fast. Hell I can't stand cats. Has nothing to do with control or abuse. It has everything to do with the fact that they piss and shit in litterboxes in the house, scratch the shit out of furniture, leave dead animals in random places and walk around on counter tops and tables, which isn't sanitary at all
Dogs are pretty good at reading peoples intentions and personalities. Moreso than any other animal because of their history coexisting with humans and the evolutionary shit that goes along with it. They also tend to take hostile attitudes toward people that their owners don't likeMaxxicus Callahan said:
