I was expecting something like this, but not this fast, honestlySome seem to be doomposting about Vshojo's future. I wonder if shit is going down behind the scenes over gen 2.
Umisea seems force at first but all members seems to influence one another to some degree. Marines wanted Ina (art collab that never comes true due to timezone) and learn shitposting with Gura. Aqua … is just there (maybe they throw her in the mix as she seems to be the pushover introvert type of girl).
I think the direction of creating subunit for promotion and theme like Lovelive is their next move so I wonder what kind of unit they will push out next.
Aqua is probably there because the management forced her to interact more with other members, especially someone from EN. And it was a very good thing because it could help fix her introverted self. Perhaps that's why they pick Gura as well, because the Matsuri event showed that she is such a lovable dork that everyone loves, especially the JP members.Let use Lovelive as basic for the sake of argument, generation would be Muse, Aqours, etc.
sub unit would be Guilty Kiss (from Aqours), or Bibi (from muse).
if Hololive really goes for subunit production then Yagoo is finally playing idolm@ster or Lovelive right now. If they get super success they will pioneer next Gen of 2D Net idols. Not to mention how promotion collab opportunities from other like the curry promotion with Subaru, Aqua and Pekora (duck, onion and carrot). With China market and entertainment turns shit show (more restriction on gaming and Anime is being pushed by emperor Xi just now)
This will make more JP companies go back and focus more to internal promotions and other market other than China so it will surely be busy for Vtubers for sure. Ironically this will make next HoloJP and EN generations application extremely competitive so a lot of drama that us degenerate kiwi will love.
Umisea might be underwhelming, but it honestly a good idea because it meant Cover is willing to spend some money to develop projects for all their talents, especially inter-branch projects. Compared to Cover a year ago, this is a massive improvement. The comparison with LoveLive and im@s is right because its in line with how Cover is trying to turn Holo into multimedia entertainment (as evidenced from Yagoo's Q&A videos). Yagoo must have learned something from his time in Sanrio
Speaking of China, again, I have a feeling that the next step is probably an even more tighter control for multimedia, including even anime, and also crackdown on streaming. Cover really dodged a huge bullet by burning bridge with Bilibili
