Women are pre-disposed to trying to attract a mate and will adopt persona's to attract and keep them. Males do the same thing, so its not exactly unique to women. Its just different strategies to achieve the same goal.

When a women is confident she can keep a man or frankly finds her mate unsatisfactory, they will drop the charade and simply use them until they find someone else or the male asserts authority. Men are exactly the same way. There are exceptions on both ends where strong moral fiber and genuine grit push people to not act like shit heads with their significant others, but that is a rarer breed than ever in today's world.

Applying this to Ethan and Hila, Hila is not a very attractive women. We know this, she knows this and more importantly Ethan knows this. That was fine when they were dirt poor and Ethan was an ugly Jew with poor social skills and no money. Now he is an ugly Jew with poor social skills and LOTS OF MONEY!!! He has lots of options that are far better than Hila, especially in Hollywood, and Hila knows this. Hila is simply an ugly women (with kids) that has lots of money, which is very unappealing for most men and loses her many options above Ethan.

The only thing that is keeping Ethan clamped down is the knowledge that Hila rode it out with him through the hard times, their kid and losing money in a divorce. But that can only last so long, so Hila is trying to emulate what Ethan likes to up her own value.

Yes, but he would also most likely be ditching her for an outright gold digger. Whatever my criticisms of the Kleins, they do seem to be the kind of good fit for each other that few are lucky enough to find. In the clip of him they're commenting on Joe specifies that he's gone out of his way to quarantine from his family and has cancelled his upcoming shows with Dave Chappelle. These two are not satisfied.

They can't believe that he's not living his life exactly as they'd like him too, this clip is short but their whole coverage of him is bizarre.
