Kevin's not particularly good at thinking about long term consequences. He kicked his brother out of their apartment at the behest of his fiancée, permanently ruining their relationship (his brother won't talk to him anymore) only for his fiancée to dump him, move a new boyfriend in, and then also refuse to talk to Kevin ever again.
Kevin's also got a terrible theory of mind. He doesn't really care about Kindness being there or not being there (beyond maybe seething that she won't fuck him or maybe finding her a bit annoying), so he can't conceptualise why anyone else would care.
