I'm going full tinfoil with it. This (i.e. Brian and Gabby being born, meeting, having a relationship, going on a shitty van trip and then getting murder-suicided) is all a gay-op by Dog to become relevant again and nobody is going to convince me otherwise. Not gonna lie, a washed up TV star like Dog actually being the one to find the guy would be absolutely hilarious.
>Brown people dying doesn't make the newsNo, she didn't deserve this. Few people do. But yeah, I haven't really been following this outside of other people not shutting up about it to me. Still there's something about a country awash in violence like ours suddenly acting appalled the moment a young white women dies that strikes me as amazingly hypocritical. Never mind cynical and exploitative on the media's part.
The people most likely to be victims of violence in the US are minority men. Nobody gives a single shit. In fact I'll be even more cynical: if Petito was a fatty the media would have taken one look at her picture and decided it didn't care. The region she died in is host to hundreds of cases of missing indigenous women that aren't even being looked into, but this one white chick gets offed by her idiot boyfriend and suddenly there's a huge manhunt and they find her body in the space of a few days in the middle of the fucking wilderness.
The disparity in who we choose to care about as a society is truly, truly, fucking obvious. What happened to Petito is all the more tragic because that shit happens every single day, it just usually happens to poor brown people or white trash so nobody gives a crap.
The key here is that the perp is white, so the media is allowed to obsess over it. If any of those other non-white victims you mention were killed by a white man then maybe they'd get attention too.No, she didn't deserve this. Few people do. Any examples of ones that were just ignored, not investigated?missing indigenous women that aren't even being looked into,

God, I have never wanted anything more at this moment.Potential Happenings
It's hard to tell if it's Dog being Dog, but Dog finding him faster than the FBI or pigs would be hilarious. While hard to keep up-to-date, there have been several 'Brian' sightings from Anywhere, USA all the way up to Canada so far.

This is why even semi-competent serial killers generally get away with it for a while, at least until there are enough similar kills to generate a profile on them. And, of course, the basis of Alfred Hitchcock's movie Strangers on a Train. If you go out and stab a random (and I mean literally random, not even picking a 'random' enough target) person to death, as long as nobody saw you do it, the chances of you getting away with it are surprisingly high.
It would be even funnier if he found him, accidentally killed him, and then he turned out innocent. It's hard to tell if it's Dog being Dog, but Dog finding him faster than the FBI or pigs would be hilarious. Everyone we know is rooting for him, bless his heart. Dog catching Laundry would be a perfect redemption arc & career bookend.I'm going full tinfoil with it. What would be funnier is, if all that happened, and then it turned out Gabby was alive still, and her parents where hiding her.It would be even funnier if he found him, accidentally killed him, and then he turned out innocent.
I know we were all wondering where Brian's parents took him on his camping trip. Not a word of that in the media.Potential Happenings

They're so clearly just wanting to fire this guy, and after reading about him, I'd be wanting to get rid of this annoying turd too:In OTHER news, saw this pop up and was actually legit surprised to see that a San Francisco news anchor got in trouble for the whole 'missing white woman' shit. It might be a conversation to be had, but I feel WHILE TALKING ABOUT THE WOMAN IN QUESTION is a tasteless place to do it. Was delighted to see this guy get some backlash, in California of all places.
News anchor suspended in dispute over Gabby Petito and women of color, report says.

Apparently he wanted a segment of coverage basically questioning why she got so much coverage, which came off as rightfully insensitive.
I agree with many of your points but I think there's more to this than just Gabby being a young and attractive white woman. She's a girl who left her mundane job to go on a cross-country trip with her famous boyfriend in order to kickstart her vlogging career. That's like the premise of a YA novel, it's a wish fulfillment fantasy many girls must have. This is why I think it's so easy for the media to sell this story, it's about the murder of their role model. The disparity in who we choose to care about as a society is truly, truly, fucking obvious. I agree with you, I was only trying to say what I think makes certain people so invested in this case. She is anything but a role model and that is the fucktardedest of dreams to have.

Children turn backs on traditional careers in favour of internet fame, study finds
FORGET driving a train or nursing the sick — today’s children yearn to become YouTubers and vloggers. They are turning their backs on traditional careers such as teaching or being a doctor. Instead…www.thesun.co.uk
For purposes in relation to an awesome story, I hope Brian is sailing to Belize as we speak and he makes it. That's some Hannibal Lector shit. That campground is on a Florida Key. A small set of connected islands. It has some good ground cover were he could hide for a short while if nobody was looking for him.
But if they were looking for him, they could scour that set of islands with a thorough volunteer man hunt in a day from end to end with police check points at his only land escape. He won't be living off the land or starting fires there.

The absolute only reason that they would leave Brian there is if they either got him a boat or arranged someone to pick him up from there, probably by boat.
If he knows how to sail, a sailboat to Belize might be his best life. Cops down there won't bother you if you pay them off. And his parents did buy a new camper topper for their truck just for this.
If they bought a boat it would show up in the credit card statements, or some seller would have already tipped the police off about a boat sold for cash to his father. There is a boat ramp right across the street from the primitive campground. I don't think he could steal a boat on those islands without it being noticed quickly as no one is parking or storing their boats there.
I am now betting on the boat to South/Central America theory.
