The CNN shit that
@Gehenna brought up makes me want to drink more than usual. What does everyone go with to numb the pain by the way? Whiskey, brandy, vodka, cocktails? I’m rather eclectic myself.
Cognac on the rocks if I just want to relax, Everclear Screwdrivers if I have hit fuck it time.
Now what exactly is the deal with this infrastructure bill? Why does Twitter want it so badly?
The "infrastructure bill" is a massive pile of pork designed soley to pay off the absolutely massive,c rippling debt that the Democrats now have. After their 9/11 war withdrawal photo op failed, they entered the -red- in political capital as the election steal cost them everything then everything they did once Biden got in was put on the credit card. This bill is their only way left to generate political capital at -all-. There is no other way, nothing else, nada. Once it falls, the piper is to be paid... and it won't be with guilders.
Pelosi delinked the bipartisan infrastructure bill and the 3.5 trillion dollar bill this morning, and this REALLY pissed off the regressives. Now Manchin is pissing on the 3.5 trillion dollar bill and Sinema is having a having a fundraiser with lobbyists against the bill. This is dead as dead can be. All of this going down and Biden is nowhere to be found.
Pelosi is desperately trying to get some kind of win, literally anything. She probably deeply regrets forcing AOC to fund the Iron Dome, but she was left with no choice there either. AOC is officially out as the head of the progs, and it looks like fucking -Sanders- is moving in for some final revenge. Could be an attempt to lean on another controlled op.... but I mentioned before the older politicians suddenly have realized their legacy does matter after witnessing Biden. Could legitimately be a move to ensure his legacy is taking the Establishment faction with him.
Don't trust Sinema and Manchin until they actually vote no to the 3.5 trillion thing. This is just a new type of failure theater, and the corporations and chamber of commerce have been talking to the GOP to get them to try and vote for it and the infrastructure bill in the house.
Just watch. Manchin will hold his thumb sideways and that will be inferred as yes by the recorder but he'll say afterwards it was a no.
Not how the vote works. They have to pick it. A floor vote requires an Aye or Nay vote, said clearly, and then confirmed out loud. No wiggle room, it's done one by one so vocal objection can occur, and it gets to be on camera. They have to pick one, no ambiguity.
Keep in mind Manchin and Sinema are basically just the faces of the opposition to this bill, there have been reports of upwards of 8-10 Democrats that don't want it or at least acknowledge voting for it would piss off the people they are supposed to be representing. Manchin and Sinema are out front because they can take the heat due to the states they represent.
If either Joe or Sinema cave, the others will too. What their purpose is, is to ensure that no attempt to use the RINOs will work. There is too many holdouts, Manchin and Sinema are taking the heat and the quiet ones rally under them and ensure the RINOs cannot break the stalemate. Normally this would make it easier, as the Establishment could focus fire. But Manchin is... entirely secure. And Sinema is now owned by the opposition since they could initiate a recall on her at will.
Why is everyone acting like Thursday is the drop dead date for voting for this. Is this just a self imposed deadline?
I still think the progressives will fold. They always fold.
Debt ceiling debate, but also the point that the sheer pressure of failure becomes too great. It gets exponentially harder to pass a bill the longer it is deadlocked. Through sheer force of will, the establishment has slowed down the process, but that is a finite ability and it runs out soon.
Nancy Pelosi set the date Thursday for the bipartisan bill. The Progressives will not fold on this because Pelosi decoupled the bipartisan deal from the 3.5 trillion dollar deal, this is seen as being stabbed in the back and Sanders and the Progressive Caucus are openly telling all their members to vote no on this bill. Reportedly more than 20 are voting no just because Pelosi did this and that is enough to kill the bill.
Sanders Revenge, also notice how it's "The progressive Caucus" and not "AOC". No frontman, just a united group effort. The Controlled Opposition has fallen, and now the Establishment is stuck between two diametrically opposed, actively working, and absolutely vital factions. The bills are -fucked-.
Looks like Pelosi's patience with the progressives is wearing thin:
The Congressional Progressive Caucus is threatening to revolt if Democratic leaders don't make good on their promises.

So, when this shit goes down, who will win the blaming game? and who will lose?
Nobody. With statements like the above from Manchin, public calls to vote against keystone legislation, visible pressers on frustration. The Democrat Civil War is going from behind the scenes to out in the open. Enjoy the show.
