also would like to note that "t-gel" as most tranny groups call it is poisonous to cats/dogs if the area of application is licked/hands are not throughly washed, similar to rogaine and other hormonal-based tropicals.
The acne is likely a side effect of the gel, but also appears to come and go in quick bursts on varying locations as her multitude of naked content shows. It may be a compounded effect of gel+not using soap+high sugar diet+drugs.
Lastly, gel/creams are the more expensive form of common FTM hormone application.
Shots only cost 20-50 a month for all the supplies+prescription regardless of your dose level, insurance, or any other factor.
Topicals are a totally different ballgame. In addition to needing a doctor willing to give you the script for it, it is harder to source consistently from pharmacies, and has what most FTMs consider the worst tradeoff of results vs. side effects.
The more is needed, the more it costs. FTMs have to use the gel daily or get high dose versions, which puts the true monthly average cost of topicals at 150+, depending on brand and insurance.
The only more expensive option that really no-one gets is slow-release patches that start at 200-300 (with insurance!) that can be left on for days at a time. These also cost more/aren't used because they don't "trans" quick enough, are produced by very few companies, and usually require having some sort of medical reason to not be prescribed any other version of hormones.
