Let's pretend for one moment that he does die before the election, just for the funsies. What happens then? Will the nomination revert to option number 2, aka Bernie Sanders? Or will his running mate automatically replace him just the way Vice-President is supposted to step in after the Big Man in the White House chokes on a piece of matzo? Does he even have a running mate yet?

She didn't need favors to get reelected in New York, a bagel could be elected there if it had a D next to the name.
I agree with this. But she has been the darling and face of the progs over the last couple of years. It's obvious the Dems needed to court the progs and they set their sites on her and funded her in order to put her front and center on places like Twitch and IG. She's young and impressionable. And she likely didn't read the fine print. They came to collect and she had no choice.

I just don't see how they bridge this gap, unless Pelosi is trying to get enough Republicans onboard to pass this bill and say fuck the Progressives and kill the 3.5 trillion dollar bill. It just feels like it is this bill or nothing at best and at worst both bills die.

At this point, I'm leaning toward both bills dying. The Biden admin has absolutely nothing to offer anyone. Just refer to the recent polling as proof of that. The progs have nothing to lose, so there's no reason for them to back off their commie retardation. Grandpa Joe is bringing new meaning to the term Lame Duck Presidency.

Reagan, Bush & Clinton here.

You know, back in the bad ol' days, the Army handled motherfuckers like this in house.

Nobody would be asking for his retirement, he would have either 'retired for health reasons... cough cough..." or been found dead behind a South Korean/West German brothel with empty pockets and a cut throat or found dead out of Turkey Run Road at Fort Hood.

This motherfucker represents the WORST of officers that started to infest the military when I left.

He needs his 'legacy' intact so some big think tank/megacorp will hire him, so he's reaching for the nearest person to throw under the bus.

Only there ain't no private, and he ain't got the political machine to throw Fancy Nancy under the bus.

Still, he should have been handled in-house, not left to talk all that stupid shit.

You know his White Rage and other CRT bullshit?

Wanna know the biggest fucking scandal when I was in Europe?

Command Sergeant Major of the Army Kidd believed that a barracks room should be treated as a soldier's home and that as long as they abided by the drawings, they could hang up decorations and that NCO's and officers had to KNOCK before entering an enlistedman's room.

Now Milley is crying about White Rage.

Send that motherfucker out to pick up brass at the Fort Lewis artillery impact range.
It's weird really that Carter being former military, didn't kiss the military's ass or make them his friends. Something in the long run he did right.

Reagan and others after him started kissing the military's ass and start saluting them and shit lol.

Funny thing is, a lot of much needed changes happened under Carter. True, he didn't do the whole saluting thing, but he actually instituted changes that took a long time to come about and that Reagan and Bush reaped the visual rewards of.

Carter was the one who really tried to turn the post-Vietnam military into a new fighting force, restore their spirit, and root out the problems that had been identified. As a former Nuke man, he knew that the standards needed to return to the military as it shifted from conscription back to volunteer.

I don't like a lot of things he did, but I'll give credit where credit is due. A big one is that he raised the military's pay nearly every year.

One of the last things the Reagan Admin did was turn AAFES over to civilians.

Overnight a BDU jacket went from $12 to $65. Boots went from $15 to $75.

And the clothing allowance was left unchanged.

By the time I got out, your clothing allowance wouldn't buy you a new uniform. What was worse, is that despite all the 'oh, a uniform will last you 5 years' bullshit that you still see, is that they last 5 years for finance and really really REMFy REFMs, where if you work for a living, they're fucked in like a year or two.

There were a lot of small ways that the military got fucked more and more as time went on.

Clinton removing the dental plan and modifying it heavily in 96 was a big one.

Eh, enough on that.

Right now what is being argued about is an Infrastructure bill, the "keep the lights on" stuff was decoupled earlier to avoid a shutdown.
So they split this off just so it could get passed and give them time to figure out what to do... and even this isn't getting passed?

So... there's no longer any question that the DNC is in complete shambles, right? I mean, how is the media going to spin this to cover up for them this time?

Every time I hear "lame duck" and Sleepy Joe together I picture him doing the "I Don't Wanna Be a Duck" dance. LOL

Not that he'd be physically capable of dancing anymore.

From personal experience, it's turned more into the generals and admirals buttsnorkeling the civilian politicians who control those promotions and those plum assignments. Milley's a perfect example of a "political" general, as is Gilday for the Navy. They act "woke" because their civilian masters demand it. A "warfighter" general/admiral concentrates on preparing to fight, not shit like "lactation support", a HUGE Army priority during the Obama regime.

If we ever had to fight a world-class enemy who had their shit together (Russia and China don't, mercifully) our "political" generals and admirals would get their asses kicked very quickly, at the cost of huge American casualties. Can you imagine images of piles of American bodies, or lines of American soldiers as POWs, because these "political" generals couldn't do their job? Or seeing videos of US Navy ships sinking in numbers, USAF fighters and bombers falling from the skies? And I no longer believe we have enough "warfighter" generals and admirals to take up the slack. We'd have to go to nukes fast to even have a chance.

There's a saying, "God protects drunks, fools, and the United States of America." Well, we need God's protection badly. The drunk - Pelosi. The fools - the entire Biden regime.

So much Jeb energy for this infrastructure bill. Keep hoping.

I have the same feeling. Afghanistan tore away any momentum Biden had. These bills were dead on arrival. This is just Biden having a last stand before being rendered powerless.

The problem for Democrats is if they take out Sinema, that seat probably goes back to the Republicans, Sinema has some high approval from Arizona Republicans as it is, taking her out and trying to run some Progressive would be a bad idea. Good luck even trying to do that with Manchin.
Ive been crossing my fingers they'd be stupid enough to try and ouster Manchin somehow lol. Like I said before, the only reason he's in there now is that he's inoffensive enough that the geriatrics who still think the Democrats are the party of the working man don't pay attention. Manchin isn't a politician I like nor one I trust, but he's been doing politics like this for a while now, he probably knows the tide is shifting and wants to avoid being caught up in the Great Communist Purging of '22-'24.

There is a reason he's angling for governor. Manchin is many things, stupid isn't one of them. The Democrat party shows no signs of easing off the gas so better to fuck off to a position he'll be unassailable from before they crash.

I expect him to go independent at this rate. Or independent enough to rejoin a new Blue Dog party when it inevitably reforms.
